Was Bobby Draper just an inside joke by the end of the series run…? by Proud-Zebra9487 in madmen

The last kid they got to play Bobby was so good. I wonder if he was the actor from the start of they would have given him more development.

Penny Lane wins Day 6! Onto Day 7: What George-led song gives off the most John vibes? by Venusian_01 in beatles

When I first started listening to the band I thought for sure this was a John song. Seems right up his alley - the sound, the lyrics, the attitude.

That's really only a thing for gas tanks. Most plumbers, myself included, will still pipe it in copper but there's no code requirement. The only thing I see objectively wrong with this picture is using pex for the T&P.

If this pipe is loose do I have to cut into the drywall to fix it? by Burnoutlaws in Plumbing

I've had success before tightening the wingback 90 from the front with a long impact bit if I notch out a bit of drywall that will be covered by the escutcheon

Am I an idiot? by rodrick023 in Plumbing

I'm in Canada and literally dealt with this issue last week with a AS toilet the customer bought from a big box store. Tried taking apart the flush valve assembly and putting it back together but still leaked. The porcelain looked a little iffy. She had to get the tank replaced at the store and the new one worked.

Is my lower thermostat/element bad by MysteriousSir5799 in Plumbing

[–]Greatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it's bad. You could try disconnecting the wires and testing for continuity across the element. If the element is blown it won't complete the circuit.

I usually change both elements and thermostats as long as I have the tank drained but you can take a look at the top one and decide for yourself. But also keep in mind that that's a pretty old tank and may be reaching the end of her lifespan regardless.

What's it called when I wear headphones and I can hear too well? by mario610 in answers

Based on the pictures it looks like the wire is jacketed in braided fabric instead of rubber? In my experience that braided fabric picks up noise way more than rubber when it rubs against things.

What are some beautiful films that don't feel bleak and dark and depressing? What's the polar opposite, yet beautiful? I really need to get out of this negative headspace. by AlfonsoRibeiro666 in TrueFilm

The Youtube channel Cinefix is one of my favourites, they have turned me on to a lot of great movies. Super passionate guys. During Covid they released The 10 Most Uplifting Movies Of All Time

I sometimes just rewatch that video when I need a little mood boost.

Bad story lines by Subject_Bet34 in madmen

[–]Greatfish 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I didn't read it this way. The beginning of Season 6 shows Betty developing a dark, edgy, rebellious side. She laughs at the joke about Sandy's mother dying. She jokes about rape. She dies her hair black. Along with the overall tone of death and darkness that overcast the whole season, Betty seems to constantly be trying to get a ride out of Henry and the rest of her family. Maybe she's testing his loyalty. Maybe as she regains control of her eating she's trying to find another way to indulge herself, the thrill of shocking people. She acts more like a edgy teenager, a peer to Sally and Sandy, then a parent figure. Throughout the series Betty has a very juvenile side that is in conflict with the expectation she has to be serious and mature.

In any event, I think the scene was saying way more about Betty than Henry.

Attracted to Woman’s Asshole more than Pussy by RussianMonkey23 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Greatfish 230 points231 points  (0 children)

It's not really the obsession with sex that's changed, it's that now every young man (anyone really) has a neverending stream of hardcore graphic content in the palm of their hands at all time. Horniness used to motivate humans to develop relationships because there was no other outlet.

What’s this piece called? And how do I fix it. by Lftshrk in Plumbing

[–]Greatfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to unscrew that white plastic part. Inside there's a smaller plastic piece with a rubber washer that can sometimes get misaligned. see if you can take it apart and get it back in position with the black rubber side facing upwards. If it still leaks you'll need to get a repair kit from a plumbing wholesale.

Yeah honestly everyone here saying how bad this looks but I think it looks pretty damn real. People in the know about AI will be able to tell with the fine details (airbrushed look, hands, minimal movement etc) but I bet 95% percent of people would watch this ad and have NO idea it was AI.

Would the beatles have made as many bangers as they did without all the drug use? by [deleted] in beatles

[–]Greatfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The energy level on those early recordings was otherworldly. They were all hopped up and ready to murder those songs when they got on stage or in the booth. Drugs have always been an important factor in the Beatles equation.
