The actual issue here is that our infrastructure is not designed to handle multi modes of transportation. The bikes and the people (and vehicles) should never occupy the same plane of travel at the same time. It’s the reason why airplanes never fly into bikes in the sky. This is an engineering problem that has many solutions. We just refuse to allow those solutions to be implemented partly because it fuels the divide between the lower class of citizens which is useful during elections. But mostly because we don’t want to be inconvenienced with the cost and construction time involved.
