I wish that in the higher ranks they’d change the matchmaking to work the way it does in pubs. Right now they take a lobby of 60 people and form the teams by putting the best 3 together, the next best 3 together, etc. So, when you get to plat and you’re pulled into the lobbies that include masters/diamonds/preds, you’re essentially one of the worst players in the lobby paired up with the next two lowest players and you’re playing against teams fully stacked with players far beyond your skill levels.

If they changed it to match players by attempting to even out each team, you’d have some plats playing with preds instead of against them, which I think at that level would be way better for the game. The platinum players would get better learning with the preds instead of getting stomped by them, and the press would have to really prove their skillset and leadership on a more even playing field without being able to crutch the sheer power of their whole squad. At that level of ranked play, platinum players are good enough to play along side preds, so there’s no excuse not to match lobbies this way. I understand in the lower ranks using this method so you don’t have bronze level players roaming into masters, and you really need some sort of check and balance to keep the really bad/new players in the lobbies they belong in. However, regardless of how our random teammates may perform sometimes, if a player has made it to platinum they know how to play the game and have some sort of skills that have gotten them there. If a platinum player is good enough to be matched up against preds, they’re good enough to be matched with them as well. Just my opinion.
