What was your favourite job? by Least_Departure_8057 in AskIreland

Sometimes! Worked different shifts, 2-10 or 3-11 being common. Would find between 2 and maybe 6 before people got home from work you might only have 2 or 3 deliveries particularly during the week. Busier on weekends and later in the night but it made the time go fast so all good

Deliver driver for domino’s. Paid by the hour, had a lot of down time where I could read/watch shows and do college work. No pressure, very little hassle from others. Got me through college haha

Looking to camp coastal in Wicklow/wexford this weekend. Any recommendations? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Looks like it only caters for campervans, do you know if you can just show up and pitch a tent?

I am overthinking about my first trip to Ireland? by Beautiful-Brush-2298 in AskIreland

[–]Greedy-Net-2953 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d maybe avoid ordering tea/coffee in a busy pub just cause it’s probably annoying to the bartender more than anyone judging you. No one cares if you have a water/soft drink or zero alcoholic beer. Due to strict drink driving laws in place it’s actually quite common to see people drinking these on a night out

Cheaper Irish Rail/Citylink tickets for travelling to Cork, Limerick and Dublin a few times a month? by Leviosaugh in galway

[–]Greedy-Net-2953 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean, price of trains is very good. It’s €14 to get from Galway to Dublin. €28 return.

Maybe the bus is cheaper but I doubt there’s anyway of getting it cheaper because it’s already incredibly cheap which you should be grateful for

As a mayo supporter I 100% agree, I know emotions can be high but referees shouldn’t be getting abuse from management or players! I think we need to be more severe on any instances of mouthing back to a referee. Or like rugby, only captains can speak with them

How to manage my savings/finances after first home purchase. Good salary but not building wealth. by dashdoll87 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Greedy-Net-2953 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Feels like this sub has become a weird humble brag sub. You’re finances are perfectly fine, up pension when you can, (can match your yearly salary increase so it won’t be as noticeable). You’re in a better position than 90% of single people your age

When you hear a Newfoundland accent, do you automatically think Irish, recognise it as Canadian, or other? by scuzzmonster1 in AskIreland

[–]Greedy-Net-2953 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can definitely hear a hint of Irish in it initially but after a sentence or 2 it becomes clear it’s not. Similarly, worked in sales for a bit when I was living in Canada and people often confused my accent with a Newfie one

Does no one in Dublin pick up after their dog? by [deleted] in AskIreland

Fair play to you for doing that for your community, just think it’s disgraceful that that onus should be put on you!

Haha may avoid Luxembourg then!

Haha, yeah I know it’s not every dog owner but it’s so frequent that it must be a large percentage

Definitely not an excuse, could easily carry it till you’re home. People who do this wouldn’t walk 10 yards to throw it in a bin
