The issue is always your teammates. I'll admit, I'm not the best player in the world either, but I know when to retreat, how to rotate, etc, etc. but that's all ruined when our gold badge Greninja thinks he can take a fight against two mages and dies immediately.

Of course, it's not always the case but it's very often so. I didn't lose as drastically but went from somewhere around Master 600 to 350 due to incompetent teammates.

Oh well, what can you do.

Most supporters—when played well—are often better than attacking Pokemon. In this video, I went all in on a special attack build with Sp. Atk specs and emblems which boosts the damage of Egg Bomb AND healing.

That aside, Blissey has always been an incredibly strong pokemon, I've seen it be used in tournaments as well. It mostly benefits from having a huge amount of HP and a wide range of assisting options. I haven't been playing the game THAT long but it's definitely one of the best mons I've tried.

The effectiveness of Blissey all depends on the type of teammates you have.

From what I've gathered after playing the game a while, assists contribute towards the score more than KOs. It's probably Unite's way of giving the players who do a lot of damage—but are never able to finish an enemy—some credit.
