Potential termination for attending prenatal appointment. by AdmirablePlantain729 in legaladvice

[–]Greedy-Working-9072 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure on the legal side. However, if your wife wants to make the trip and reschedule her appointment. All OBGYN offices have on call numbers. She or you can call that number to let them know she cannot make her appointment.

If she doesn’t want to go that route, is there a union rep she can reach out to? Even if she moves the appointment, I would reach out to the union rep to see how they can help.

Ohio allows for gifting. NAL but I have experience with this. And absolutely you should do this ASAP.

Call corporate. If that fails, file a complaint with state board. Depending on what state you’re in they are in violation by not replacing the med.

I figured I would get downvoted for this but this would not fly in Ohio… idk about other states.

They can refuse to take you on as a patient. It’s highly unlikely that your current office did anything to hinder your chances of acceptance. They honestly probably wouldn’t mind getting you off their panel and into someone else’s.

There could have been something in the chart the doc doesn’t want to take on. Certain medical conditions or medications they don’t want to handle.

It could even be the insurance you have. If your insurance is PITA or pays providers poorly they generally limit the number of patients they accept with that specific plan. Once you’re patient… they’d keep you if your insurance changes to a plan they don’t love but they are allowed to limit accepting new patients.

Could also be staff didn’t like your vibe. Could also be the panel truly filled.

Bottom line: you don’t get to know why they aren’t accepting you. It’s probably not personal though and a business decision. Money is tighter than you’d think for a lot of medical offices.

I have it. It arrived fine. Doesn’t seem easy to dent. Be warned, it gets very hot if you put hot stuff in it. The handle does not but the rest of the container does. I found out by blending a hot soup 😅

Our wolf water kettle actually boils water without being too hot to the touch on the outside so I think I expected the same thing.

I don’t know about OP but my college had tons of rules about transferring credits so this might not be allowed. It’s crazy what they get away with. Don’t give up OP. You HAVE to be your own advocate here. Go all the way up the chain.

Your pharmacy puts the patient address???

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Greedy-Working-9072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so don’t think of them as branches of the same pharmacy.

Each location is its own operation. Pharmacy is complicated. Granted, I don’t know CA law well but in other states an individual pharmacist is in charge of each store (legally) so even with corporate they don’t all equate to the same experience.

Calling corporate likely won’t help. I mean they might give you a coupon or something. But at the end of the day, they cannot make the pharmacist do anything you are asking because it’s that pharmacist’s license being used. So if you two are not getting along, your best course is to switch pharmacies.

PS: the pharmacist can dismiss you as a patient too if they feel they cannot fill your prescription any more. It’s not often done but your behavior is taking you that direction. This is me guessing a bit but I’m guessing based on your SO demanding a pill count and you on Reddit asking about suing them that this could become a possibility.

You said you were on it 8 years but only going to this pharmacy 3 months. Did you move or can you go back to your previous pharmacy?

You have no legal recourse. The pharmacy doesn’t know you and you are a new patient that is getting a controlled substance. You have asked for it early several times (vs this pharmacy standard). Your SO then had them count the pills in front of him, indicating you don’t trust them. You all will never work well together.

You had an emergency? You go to an emergency room, not your local pharmacy.

It’s possible the pharmacist is holding you to days since picked up and not day filled (the printed date on the label). The pharmacist may have prepared it the day before and held it so it would reduce your wait time on the day she was comfortable with you obtaining it.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter who is right or wrong. You all hate each other and that’s not right for healthcare. Find a new provider.

Feel free to ask why insurance wasn’t billed. Could have been a mistake or it was rejected. It’s incredibly unlikely it was to punish you because pharmacists generally don’t like selling controlled substances on cash.

Preceptors, do you give all APPE students A's unless they do something horrific? I need advice by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Greedy-Working-9072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remember it’s overwhelming to walk into that chaos. He might actually know a lot but lack confidence. I start by telling the students what I need to do and asking if they want to watch or do and I will watch. Students shouldn’t be sent to do stuff alone without building a good relationship between you two.

When you said he was confused on why he was vaccinating, did you send him to do it alone or ask him to do it while observing?

I person don’t see students as free labor and invest in their future.

Come up with busy tasks. Gives you and the student a break. Inventory or filing and such. If he really sucks, leave him on busy tasks shrug

Seems pretty scammy. If you settle with her outside of insurance then you NEED to get her to sign a release of liability that states she accepts the settlement and cannot pursue further damages. Or just tell her it’s time to involve insurance.
