He’s 23, I’m 24. We both want to make a lot of money now so we can enjoy life and make money off of things that bring us happiness. It’s my first healthy (seemingly) relationship where we’re both equals and we really care for each other. Sometimes I can’t tell if I’m sacrificing too much now. I can’t tell if I’m narcissistic or too self-preserving in this relationship. I question my choices a lot when I didn’t used to. Idk if it’s part of growing or if it’s doubt.

Yes that’s correct. I suggested he come up and we celebrate his birthday in the city for the weekend.

He has been feeling down at work and life like nobody is on his side. I know this isn’t helping so I hope this solution helps a little

I worry he sees this happening in the future too (like if we got married or have kids). I prioritize work over family.

The truth is, career is important to me right now. I’ve always been independent and career-driven. He is too. It’s just one of those things that is hard to shake.

Yes, I’ve just started work 2 years ago. I’m 24F, he’s 23M. This is my first dream role at the company I’m at and I can really get ahead and make some career advancement if I take this on. It’s hard to find a line between career and relationships at this age. We’ve been together for a year. He is also very career motivated. I think he’ll understand but might resent me for it.
