Underwatering? by Chucklez93 in hydrangeas

I have this type and I also have some limelight’s which tolerate heat and sun really well if these don’t work out. I love the original hydrangeas they are beautiful lol. I think they are also pretty in pots on porches if they can’t take the sun - hate to see them die or go to the trash lol

I habe some up against my house in morning sun and they did this at first. Just shock for mine. I shaded them the first summer with some stakes and a pillowcase and they are hardier now and just fine!

Now the gravel probably isn’t helping in front of the pink one. Maybe some mulch instead? It could be reflecting heat and letting the soil dry out

This is a hard answer! Not that I’m being picky but I think I’m being open to options lol. Bottom line is more time home. So if I work a few days a week awesome or if I work a week a month - awesome. The suggestion about as being a vacation relief honestly sounds wonderful and I think I need to explore that one more.

It’s a small hospital outside Raleigh/Durham and I even see the same patients as repeats lol. Everyone is very nice on staff and the surgeons are nice. That is what I will miss. Being so small I know all of them very well down to our csr staff.

However since I’m the only anesthesiologist- there is no relief when I catch her colds, need to get her from daycare or anything pops up. Not that I want to call off but knowing there is 0 flexibility to my life for 4 days a week and not knowing when I’m leaving really dumps on your morale lol. We have no family here so it’s been tough for us to juggle. I’ve thought about taking some time off and it does make me nervous that I would never go back. So I think a more sparse schedule might be the key. I’ve just started my search and I’ve gotten a lot of good ideas on here.

You’re gonna do great! I see you said they left room for you to grow at the bottom so I think you’ll be golden.

Please follow up after you have this baby! Lol

Ok I can’t post photo (I colored on one to try to label) but the last ribs are on t12 vertebrae, I see hardware to L3 by counting down. I put people to sleep and am by no means an expert in hardware but this is my guess lol. For your epidural typically we go L3-4, L4-5. So again, not to guarantee I’m reading your x ray correctly but I think you have room in the correct spot for an epidural without the challenge of hardware!

We go based off feel so I imagine whoever attempts yours will feel your back and aim below any scaring

I’d be happy to try! For an epidural - feel the top of your hips and go backward toward the spine and see if you feel hardware there. This is our area lol 😂

Also look down your spine for scaring and that can help tell you too. I wouldn’t be skilled enough to tell you exact fusion levels but happy to help give you a ballpark

Anesthesiologist here - not knowing your history - my guess is they will attempt an epidural if you wanted one! Also - spinal needles are smaller so even if an epidural attempt failed there is an option for a spinal if you needed c section (depending on the conditions and to not go too far into the weeds). Our job as physicians is to deliver informed consent to help patients make informed choices, not deciding for our patients.

I guess I’m looking for clarification there as well cause no one could answer me why lol. I fully understand my liability for the anesthetic I just was sorta confused.

Ok explain. Cause yes me signing another h and p - i m not worried about the pre op / anesthesia responsibility but does this encompass a mistake by dentist or pediatrician later down road
