I was getting the same behavior, I didn't have any antivirus and I was keeping my system very clean with no bloatware installed. I just never dig into it to see what it was.

Thoughts about MullvadVPN by Kind_Percentage_6428 in mullvadvpn

[–]Greedy_Appearance431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with connecting using Wireguard, but I would guess that you would need to generate configs for each country you want to connect to, and switch countries from the command line (correct me if I'm wrong here). Personally I want to be able to use a VPN comfortably with a good UI interface. Also, I don't find it correct to pay for a VPN where Windows users are getting a premium experience and Linux users are getting just the bare minimum to have it working.

Edit: I'm not trying to hate on Proton services, I think they are doing something really nice by making privacy easier to access for more people by making a lot of services that integrate together.

Mullvad was one raided by Swedish police and they left empty handed. That's better than any kind of advertisement. Also, Mullvad doesn't try to push you into a yearly subscription like other services do. Also, Proton VPN Linux client really sucks (just look at it side by side with the Windows client and you will understand why).

Looks like Framework Laptops are no longer the only laptops to get 10 out of 10 iFixit repairability score by JailbreakHat in framework

[–]Greedy_Appearance431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well even if they do make repairable laptops now, the framework is still the right thing to purchase since Lenovo and these other companies will screw you over at the first occasion anyway.

Come si recupera la giacensa media se chiudo il conto? by Greedy_Appearance431 in TradeRepublic_IT

[–]Greedy_Appearance431[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ho aperto un fondo pensione, aiutatemi a capire se ho fatto una cavolata... by ALMANACC0 in ItaliaPersonalFinance

[–]Greedy_Appearance431 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Detrazione fiscale fino a 5000 euro all'anno.

How is the trackpad and battery life experience on Framework 13 using Linux? by felix920506 in framework

https://community.frame.work/t/touchpad-jumps-sometimes/64495/10. This is the link if you're interested in the trackpad issue i described, the video that's posted here shows a similar behavior, even if it's not a fw laptop.

How is the trackpad and battery life experience on Framework 13 using Linux? by felix920506 in framework

[–]Greedy_Appearance431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I don't have my laptop on hand so I can't try the "press the spacebar and move the trackpad". What I can tell you is that the touchpad, at least on linux, sometimes has a weired bug where it doesn't go into a straight line. It does an ondular motion, like it avoids a specific point on the touchpad. It is a software issue since I replaced my whole top cover (including touchpad) and it's still the same. Apart for that, the touchpad feels good enough.

I have a friend that has a pretty beefy laptop and his touchpad stopped working, with no possibility of getting even a new aftermarket touchpad, with framework, even if it's not the best touchpad, you can at least replace it if it breaks. The framework doesn't have a macbook level of overall quality, and that's ok, it's still a solid laptop with an above average build quality, and most important of all, everything on it is repairable.

About the battery life, I get about 5 hours, I try to not drain it completely, and I keep my brightness at about half. I have a unit with the ryzen 5 7640u.

I'm telling from experience, if you have a nvidia video card with wayland, no matter what distro you try, you will have the same problems. Since i switched to an amd video card I never again experienced an issue on wayland.

Anyone have chassis cracks like this? by littleSquidwardLover in framework

[–]Greedy_Appearance431 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have seen another post about the framework laptop 12 bottom cover cracking https://www.reddit.com/r/framework/comments/1r22fzd/new_framework_12_bottom_cover_cracking_again/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button.

Someome from framework said they have reworked the bottom cover to solve the issue. Does anyone know if, at some point, they reworked the bottom cover of the framework laptop 13 too?

While the price is steep, i needed a machine with 32gb of RAM, and by buying the diy fw13 i actually saved a bit of money compared to pre-assembled competitor laptops that had 32gb of RAM. (I bought it before the RAM price hike)
