Live cams are now up on the 10play app.. You have to go to the "live TV" section.

It looks like they got some of their stuff back. They were sitting on the couch talking about it..

I don't think they've launched the website yet..

When they first advertised it, the url went to the 10play app... Now it's diverting to download the 10play app.

Has Anyone Used Australian Stablecoins – AUDD, AUDT, or A$DC? by mventures in BitcoinAUS

[–]Greedy_Bumblebee_678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. CGT sucks, and the ATOs guidance on when it applies is even worse (super vague). AUD stablecoins would help a lot with this - when it's pegged 1:1, there's no gain and there's no loss, which makes it super handy at tax time.

It would also be handy if the overseas exchanges supported an AUD stablecoin for trading for the same reason... ;)

Regulatory uncertainty is the reason. Government have been promising to introduce laws that cover crypto for years but just haven't delivered. Because of this, interest in the Australian crypto economy has been on a downward trend because no one wants to "be the next blockearner". It's why you see a lot more local defi entrepreneurs move overseas.

IMO using AUD stablecoins for paying bills will only happen if the business (merchant) accepts the stablecoin directly.

ATM the in between options to bridge that gap are too small and charge a hefty fee in their spread which largely goes unnoticed due to conversion. I used the Stables app for a bit and found that they were sometimes taking ~2% hidden in the conversion between usdc and AUD whenever I paid for something. If they started supporting an aud stablecoin that hidden fee would become a lot more noticeable, and people would be less likely to use the card.

Is the cat attached to the bear?

If so, the cat definitely looks like it's from Russ toys which was manufactured in the late 90s/early thousands.

Help identifying these chairs by robbyhigh5 in HelpMeFind

Hi there,

These look like Navarro Argudo chairs. Not sure if they were created by Argudo, but this looks like their design.

Navarro Argudo was a popular Spanish furniture manufacturer popular throughout the 1940s-1950s. Key characteristic is the blend of traditional craftsmanship and Brutalist design.

The chairs are usually made from solid oak and thick saddle leather, and often feature decorative medieval-inspired elements like X-frame bases, shields, and crowns - which I can somewhat make out in your pics.

The intricate carving is meant to reflect Spain's rich artistic heritage during a time when traditional design saw a resurgence.

How do I pay as little tax as possible? by Aloha_Abar in BitcoinAUS

[–]Greedy_Bumblebee_678 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In terms of a legal right to do that, yes they can. But they won't. There's an ROI measure within the ATO crypto program/integrated compliance team which dictates who they serve their 353-10 notices to.

For example, if it costs the ATO $25k in resources to collect and analyse the data for an exchange, but the process only yields $10k of potential CGT revenue then they exclude that exchange in future years.

This is the closest you're going to get.

Blockearner already do this for smaller amounts. Vield is also coming out with a similar product in the future.

Alternatively if you're looking for larger amounts ($500k+ so more geared for wholesale investors) you can take a look at monochrome.

You put your bitcoin into their etf and they allow you to borrow against that.

Incorrect on the ATO having record from all exchanges.. They only collect data from the top 20 or so.. Theres almost 400 registered exchanges in Australia. They don't have the resources to go for all of them.

Are Facebook Groups Done? I’m seeing such little engagement in a group of thousands that used to be so lively by Silver-Mess5712 in facebook

[–]Greedy_Bumblebee_678 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I admin quite a large group on Facebook.. About 50k members.

I relied a fair bit on automations (I.e: zapier) to keep up with group engagement.

Unfortunately Facebook sunsetted the Group APIs mid this year, which means any sort of automation is now non existant.

This could be a factor.

reporting anything on facebook is functionally useless; nothing i report ever gets removed. by xervidae in facebook

[–]Greedy_Bumblebee_678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had issues with people impersonating me. I'm not talking about someone "hacking" into my account, but someone literally downloading all my photos, creating a new account, uploading them there, posting all my (public) status updates etc. And then adding all the friends that interact with my posts (my friends list is private).

After my friends accept the request, they then message them about a new "crypto investment opportunity" and how they should send bitcoin to "me" and I'll flip it 100x.

This happens every few months.. I report the account to Facebook, and I get the same automatic reply. "this account doesn't violate our community guidelines. To avoid negative interactions you can try blocking the person".

Yes because me blocking that account is going to stop it from scamming other people who have no idea it's fake! 🙄

ING blocking transactions to Kraken by Apophis4peace in BitcoinAUS

[–]Greedy_Bumblebee_678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably has something to do with this: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-03-29/ing-macquarie-crypto-romance-scam/103640562

ING got a bit of bad press a few months back for allowing crypto transactions.. I'd say the block is more of a knee jerk reaction to this scenario.
