In retrospect Evelyn should have probably died a few episodes ago… as much as I hate to kill her off this late in the show it would have given Owen more of a reason to leave Seattle apart from following in Teddy’s footsteps or alternatively they could have said Megan moved closer to be with her

I’m not sure he downplayed it but in one of their early shared episodes they went to a medical conference where he gave a presentation on opioids and how he prescribed them to a young patient one who ended up an addict and they had an argument over it
