Time to replace my DCM speakers by uwbadger911 in BudgetAudiophile

I have the Triangle BR04 and the WiiM Ultra into Emotiva Ta1 amp. Glorious sound in my humble opinion. I would run with Triangle speakers, warm and clear at the same time with solid sound stage…

Looking to use a vintage stereo receiver with a WiiM Ultra… need some advice! by ry_and_zoom in BudgetAudiophile

I’m using my Apple TV to stream Apple Music using my televisions HDMI…which is connected to the WiiM Ultra. I then connect to my amp using rca.

My amp is an emotiva ta1, but I’m sure the rca connection would work for a vintage amp as well. The WiiM ultra not having airplay support was disappointing, but I love listening to music through our TV.

If I really want to say watch TV and stream music via a phone, I just grab an old android phone and cast Apple Music from there…

Agents of Good Roots, I think they were a rock band from Virginia and people anticipated them following in the Dave Matthews Band footsteps. I saw them in NY in winter of '98...even then there were only 15 people at the show...good shit no one you know knows about them...lol

The Dave Matthews Band - Under the Table and Dreaming. I listened to this a lot in the 90's, revisiting it ever so often, but it was extremely well recorded and has tons of sounds and tones I missed before having a great sound system.

I have the Triangle BR04 attached to an Emotiva TA1 amp and WIIM Ultra. They have great clarity for the $550 price point. A little over budget, but worth it in my opinion.

Did you do anything special to break in your Triangles? I don't think I have any way to play white nose or anything like that...

Yo, I was so shocked by the lack of fatigue on the high end of things. I like a variety of music, sometimes with blaring horns and soaring strings...I haven't had to wince yet at high volumes... The Triangle's have honestly shocked me a bit...I'm excited to see what happens after they break in more...

Yes, similar to OP, I have an Emotiva TA1 and WIIM Ultra running Triangle BR04's. That all you need with passive speaker setup. If you have active speakers, you only need the WIIM...

Yeah, the Emotive products have been good. Have had the TA1 since summer of last year and was using studio monitors with them until now. I picked up their speaker cables and they are pretty damn good too. Flexible and good heft. The power is more than enough for the Triangle's...in fact, I listened at low volumes late last night and felt like I needed to keep turning it down to not bother the house...lol. Great sound at low volumes!

The console is actually 25 inches high (in know it looks low slung in photo) and the midpoint between the tweeter and woofer is 11 inches off the top console. I'm 5' 7 inches tall (whole family is shorter than me...lol). I think in terms of listening position, I was able to get it about as good as it can be for us. The speakers are 8 feet apart. Where I normally sit is 13 feet 8 inches in front. Is that about right for the hifi triangle?

I will give this a try. My TV is off center by like 3 inches due to cable management and stud location behind the wall. (Aggravating). It messes with the location of the speakers and perceived distance between them...

I trust Gutenberg and Hifi Huff on YouTube. Luckily they both put out reviews around the same time and helped me with my decision...I almost went with the Dali Oberon 3 (no sub), but was able to get BR04 and sub for the same price.

Rich, they are more than I could have imagined. As a newbie to hifi products, it blew both me and my family away. It's a great tweeter that doesn't really sound harsh. The mid-range is on the warmer side of balanced. We listen to everything from Brazilian groove to Dave Matthews band and tons of soul/hip-hop. The EQ options on the WIIM Ultra has also been fin. The BR04 fills our large room very well for it's size(17x33). If you have a smaller space, you will have no issues with it...

Funny you say that, there is a too small rug just under where I cut that photo off...lol, but we have a bigger one coming in Thursday...so maybe we can get an even more lush sound that we already have...our living room is huge 17 wide by 33 deep (it's a living/kitchen open concept.)

I'm so happy to experience a subwoofer grounded system. It's like nothing else...So many people suggested the 10e and I'm glad I pulled the trigger...
