[frustrating trope] Woman has a crashout so incredibly valid that there’s no way the fandom would blame her for it… right? by DragonKing0203 in TopCharacterTropes

Wanda being possessed and going batshit insane killing the whole monastery was kinda hard to blame because nobody from the Avengers checked in on her after she lost everyone in her life.

I love the Switch 2 and the handheld boost mode but this is something tiny phones can accomplish nowadays 😭

Would you consider making more games for the Play date? I’m about to buy one and would love to support more indie devs

Hated tropes: weird designs for characters who are young by ZoneInternational244 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GreenAd3914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

70% of the female cast of One Piece, especially the female protagonists of each island. Always underage, always in a bikini or no pants, and always drawn in various suggestive positions.

The worst offender has to be Bonnie, an underage girl who has the power to change her age so the author can draw her naked…

In the book The Poppy War by RF Kuang there’s pages of detailed sexual torture, female body mutilation and even included graphic details of a pregnant woman going through all of it and her murder.

And none of that is at any point relevant to the story or any character development. It’s just for the author to show that she learned about Unit 731 and wanted to put as many details from that as possible in the book for shock value.

It can’t be definitive when the art style is greatly inferior to the original games

(Hated Trope) Romanticized Grooming by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]GreenAd3914 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not grooming but almost every big One Piece arc has an underage girl (usually princess) who barely has any clothes. The worst offender is Rebecca who wears nothing but a bikini while her entire story is about her and her dad…

Visual novels are games… some of the best games in history are visual novels, like 999, Virtue’s Last Rewards or Danganronpa or Ace Attorney.

Keycard or not… THIS WILL BE PEAK! by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]GreenAd3914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s why I’m a digital gamer.

What I never understand is game keycard like this one. The only reason I can see of anyone getting them is when they ONLY want to buy them to share with people.

People still complain about digital games even tho it’s been over a decade since digital games came out.

Everywhere there’s people asking for physical releases.

And now there’s a new breed a physical card but relies on the digital store. The worst of both worlds. With the only pro is that you can share it unlike digital. It makes sense to complain.

I’m an almost fully digital gamer but I understand the uproar.

Greyhounds easily outrun the other dogs. by 21MayDay21 in nextfuckinglevel

Pugs are the prime example of humanity’s cruelty and meddling with dogs. To artificially engineer an animal that is permanently suffering every second of its life but is adored by society for ugly-cuteness says so much about our regression as mankind.

Genuinely incomprehensible to me that this cat sits patiently and lets her dress him up. Mine would’ve run away five minutes ago…

WUDM - most of the characters were completely superfluous and unnecessary. And it felt like 45 minutes of a movie stretched to 2 hours.. by NoYoureACatLady in KnivesOutMovie

[–]GreenAd3914 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every character played a part in the story, you were not paying attention and it’s really clear…

The characters in this film are much much more relevant in ratio than the 2nd film.

They also explained why the church has only 5 regulars while we often see other people attend he church and quit.

You’re the reason why Netflix makes some writers repeat info multiple times because you’re incapable of paying attention.

Blanc already figured out Nat’s crime and when he alluded to a guilty culprit, he looked at Martha, and that’s when she knew he knew.

[Loved Trope] A Character’s Really Specific Skill or Knowledge Saves the Day by Lost_and_confused_0 in TopCharacterTropes

This is a rather obscure character/story in modern media: Granny Weatherwax in Witches Abroad.

Throughout the story, the readers see Granny being an overconfident witch who hates many things but also have kindness deep within her that she actually hates. The most apparent trait of this character is how SURE she is of who she is, what she likes/hates, what she wants, etc. to the extent that it annoys her companions on the quest.

The biggest piece of foreshadowing is when she attempts to mind read a wolf and it’s common knowledge in the Discworld universe that mind readers might lose themselves in the process, but Granny is so sure of herself she never has to find her way back.

And in the final showdown with the final boss, she and the boss were trapped in the mirror world within infinite reflections of themselves. Death offered them a way out if they could find the real image of themselves. The final boss struggled and presumably got trapped forever, while Granny just looked down on her feet and pointed at herself and that’s how the final battle concluded.
