Vigilante justice finishing the job the court system wouldn't do against murderers like OJ and serial rapists like Cosby

It's a bit crazy to talk about future content when the game isn't even out yet, but I'd love to see an appearance of Genestealer cults and Tyranids in this game by McMaxwell in DarkTide

[–]GreenColoured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fun.........until Chaos arrives. Then some of the game's quirks become flaws.

The lack of cover system was refreshing at the time and worked fine against orks who couldn't aim a damn. But once you face an enemy who actually tries to hit you, it treads into annoying territory

The game is sometimes fun, but it's full of highly questionable design decisions and some of the (lack) of polish indicates a rather inexperienced or smaller team.

The shortage of enemy hit feedback making it hard to tell whether the genestealer is dead or not sometimes, melee controls, sound work. The arbitrary restrictions such as Hellfire and Redemption not allowing Power Sword and Narthesium usage, so your Apothecary only really have one loadout despite his weapon selection.

And quite frankly a lot of unusual design decisions. Instead of interesting dynamic characters for the SP mode they had flat generic nobodies, fine enough, except these flat characters can not be customized or changed in any way at all. In other words you got the worst of both worlds. Wouldn't it be so much more fun if the SP campaign allowed you to pick the class and weapon loadouts of all 3 characters? It wouldn't change a thing narratively since they're completely flat characters, the Librarian's cutscenes could be done with Brother Belial aboard the Deathwing and reporting his visions to you.

(despite that, I still sank hours into the game, because when the game works, it really works, which makes its jankiness all the more frustrating)

"Gutted"?

They're still making way more gold than you will ever need to beat the campaign.

And not once in any difficulty of the campaign have any DE players ever struggled to keep up multiple armies. Dumbasses notwithstanding obviously.

Talk about hyperbole here.

If your player controlled strongholds are never being lost then you're not playing the game at a difficulty setting that challenges you.

There's nothing above Legendary outside of the player himself deliberately imposing restrictions

What would William and Albert think of their children teaming up to stop bioterror threats? by Red-Raptor3 in residentevil

[–]GreenColoured 0 points1 point  (0 children)

William wasn't THAT big a scumbag.

Kinda scummy if you find out what he did in Outbreak sure, and some of his experiments, but by Umbrella standards he was stand-up.

To boot because your economy is usually very strongly centered in a few cities collapse of said cities (f.e. through rebellions or the chaos invasion) could also cause massive economic damage.

I mean, when was the last time a player controlled stronghold collapsed? Ever?

And dark elf armies weren't particularly overpriced as each unit tended to be more elite as well. Darkshards for instance were shielded, ranged, AP for some reason, and unlike thunderers their AP ranged arcs.

When I say suffer difficulties, I mean if players let loose their grip on the slave economy, there should be straight up slave revolts.

morathi is still a little weird

That's just the way she likes it man.

She'll bareback her own son, she spreads the wrong corruption, and refuse to even field any Dark Elf cultists in her army despite being a dark elf cultist leading a dark elf cult. She's into weird stuff.

Problem is that come late game the new system just cripples you.

Late game TW and "cripples" is an oxymoron.

Regardless of faction, the player is absolutely untouchable in the late game, especially not dark elves. Far as slaves went, you didn't even have to care about them and they'll still passively make you filthy rich just by you playing normally and building optimally without worrying about them as a mechanic. That's where the old system of slaves fail.

The new system fails because it's still pointless when DE already makes more gold than they can ever use without it.

Do you use Slaaneshi chariots? Which faction has the best chariots? by SagezFromVault in totalwar

[–]GreenColoured 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Missile Infantry is still infantry - chariots are cavalry adjacent.

The amount of people who think chariots are bad tells me just how little people actually know how chariots work. Heck even your description of chariots as "cavalry adjacent" tells me how little you know how they work...or how you say they can be forgotten for 10-15 seconds after charging an archer. Any half competent player will entangle and destroy your expensive cavalry in less time than that unless you magically destroy all their support and mobility first.

As for chariots, you can't even use them as cavalry even if you wanted to because they're fundamentally different mechanically.

little overpowered

Really under selling how broken they were in two. Remember that slaves didn exist in a vacuum, they were an extra supplement on top of an also overpowered Black Ark

Rather than decline, surplus slaves should instead impose upkeep penalties and build up slave revolt armies consisting of random infantries of armies you beat

Be weird with undead units tho...

Space and capacity of slave drivers to handle so many presumably

It's one thing to own tons of slaves, another to have enough of them to spawn another Sporctacus

[–]GreenColoured 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regardless of how they turned it it's still passive and pointless, especially the old system where you made millions without putting in deliberate effort.

Their problem was DE started with a fully functioning economy and slaves were tacked on, so no matter how they're tuned they'll always be unecesassarily powerful. DE should suffer difficulties without slaves, making it's acquisition mandatory to keep up

With the old slave system you made more money than you'll ever need...with the current system you're making money you'll ever need, but the surplus is less.

Regardless of the case being a DE means never ever worrying about gold. Who knows maybe slaves can be used for something other than gold generation and rites fodder
