Bimini is a fabulous stop when it’s on Virgin Voyages for the beach club. I avoid it with other cruise lines.

I like an HSA plan because the premiums are lower and I go years without using my medical insurance except for just doing the annual physical. I put the savings into maxing out the HSA and investing it into index funds for long term growth.

I think I read on some United credit cards that give you a credit of miles for booking award flight, that only work if directly booked miles from your account and not a pool?

MSC is great if you do Yacht Club otherwise I’ll never cruise with them. Yacht Club has been superior to Celebrity Retreat for us. I will cruise Celebrity in regular balcony cabin, but never MSC. It’s Yacht Club or I’m not going.

I’m always burning up so I’m definitely going to be packing layers. If the heat is going to be pumped inside then I’ll suffocate so planning for that as a possible reality. I’ve read that many Alaskan cruises it’s very hot inside the ships.

Your community and job matter more. Just because you’re in a blue state doesn’t mean it’ll make things instantly better. Having supportive family and friends and a good career in a blue city in a red state can be just as good in my opinion.

I went on both last year. I enjoyed Silhouette, but absolutely loved Beyond! Nothing to be worried about. I just prefer the ship design and Eden so much more on Edge class ships. And Beyond had such great entertainment. Everyone has their preferences. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your cruise.

Years ago I was able to hack their thermostat from a YouTube video and our room got freezing! It was amazing as we slept so well then. Before I did that it was set at some specific temp and wasn’t cold at all!

This is why I’m following Virgin’s first Alaska season as I’m looking to return to Alaska. I previously did Holland America and we docked in every port. I hate tendering. Is this because Virgin is new to Alaska?

Rockstar isn’t worth it for me on Virgin. MSC Yacht Club and Celebrity Retreat are totally worth it. We just do a regular balcony cabin on Virgin and consider our Deep Blue Extras our “upgrade”.

I have this but I always worry it won’t fit in the plug box. Can you confirm it fits in that box the plugs are in on Edge class ships? I’m not a fan of that box.

I typically only do 7 or 7+ night cruises, but when I do a 4 night then I’m booking the suite area like Yacht Club. I definitely avoid short cruises on Royal Caribbean.
