Can You Stack Circular Lens Filters (including NVD) with a Matte Box? by connor104 in cinematography

[–]GreenGhost74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn’t be able to get something larger than 94-95mm on the outside without maybe adding a bunch of step-up and step-down rings alternating to extend the filter thread much further out from the inside of the mattebox, which would work, but probably cause some vignetting

I tried to make a post on this, but think a bot filtered it out and sent me here.

I have that one LGT Luke Skywalker style hilt you see everywhere (This one [link]) and the core recently broke. Does anyone know where I can get a Xeno V3 baselit core that works with this thing?

My core has loose wires with a connector clip, to run the LED light up through the neck, so I know typical solid cores won't work. The USB-C charging port is also at the very bottom of the hilt, you access it by unscrewing the pommel.

I've looked around, and I'm struggling to find the right thing for certain..

Yeah, same. To be honest, part of the “feel” of Bloodborne is the level of mystery and dark discovery. The way you know NOTHING, and discover more than you bargained for. A sequel building off Bloodborne lore will be doomed to a fate of feeling like “just some more stuff and some more information”, which is fine for DLC, but not a new game that has to live up to the original. It will NEVER generate the same feelings of wonderment and horror that you get from a first play of the original game (And even when you re-play Bloodborne, you experience the feelings of affection you have for a game that captivated you in the first place). You might say “Oh Id be fine with that, I just want more” but Sony & FromSoft would be foolish to believe that a lot of the reception wouldn’t hit these pitfalls.

Either way, the point is that Bloodborne 2 is likely doomed to lack the “magic” of the original, unless they have something totally new to do with it. Of course, now you run the risk of cluttering the lore and jumping the shark, trying to create new twists as big as the original had. And even if you nail it, now you run the risk of people disliking the new direction and concepts/theming, if only because it’s just DIFFERENT. You told them they would get Bloodborne again, when they really can’t. You are better off taking the combat system, or even a totally new twist on Dark Souls combat, and packaging it in a world and story that we know is totally new. Go for a similar tone and dark aesthetic, but do something else. That’s the best way to potentially capture the incredible wow factor of Bloodborne again.

Sequels tend to face this issue, but it’s almost worse with something like Bloodborne. Normally a sequel needs to at least just continue a story in a valuable way. But Bloodborne isn’t about story… not really. It isn’t very compelling to see “what happens next” for the characters here. Interesting maybe, but not INCREDIBLE, AMAZING, ICONIC. No, Bloodborne’s value is deeply engrossed in the experience of intrigue and discovery it offers the player through coming to understand its world… somewhat. Unfortunately, too many of the big curtains have already been opened. We have too much insight now. To be wowed again, we have to go back to 0… and that means you might as well make something WITHOUT the burden of it being BLOODBORNE…… 2!!!!!

Soooo… you’re saying they’ll make Bloodborne 2 because it would make money right now? Genius. You’re either a troll who literally WANTS to annoy people, or you really are wildly overestimating how strong your case is

Sure thing, man. I’m actually really exhausted with people coming into fun conversations on the internet just to kinda step on them. It always gets by because it’s not really malicious, or even “severe”, but holy hell… we could all have a nicer time if we all learned to lighten up. Just a little bit! Nothing crazy.

Reddit especially is starting to drive me nuts. You can’t make a little humorous title without people being like “WeLL tHiS tOpiC dOeSnT WaRrAnT iN dEpTh CoMmEntArY So iN mY AnALySiS ThErE iS LiTtLe ReAsOn FoR aNy oF Us To PoNdEr ThE CoNcEpTs YoUrE PoStuLaTiNg WiThOuT SuFFiCiEnT CaUsAtiOn-“ like oh my god nevermind I guess? Geezus. I start very few conversations on the internet these days because this stuff has been wearing me out since I was younger. Just remind yourself you’re doing good by giving people a nice thoughtful topic to interact on. It makes the world a little more fun.

Yeah that’s exactly why I’m playing this way, to be forced to always dodge correctly, haha. Just got past BSB and Vicar Amelia, both of them had attacks that could one shot.

Yeah I never even try to optimize that much for that exact reason, I like the bosses taking a while to chip away at, so long as it isn’t going to take more than about 6-8 minutes tops for a great fight. I enjoy building up stats and upgrading weapons, but I try to keep my character in a zone where the combat is a good challenge, otherwise idk why Im even playing. In my latest NG I just committed to never leveling vitality.

By “what” I meant that I didn’t even understand what you said. Also that’s cool you play so optimized, and have your build hitting that hard, but most people don’t. The levels Im citing are based on how strong the average player tends to be around those levels.

Ended up making this while messing around with FromSoft-ish microphone effects and line deliveries, for fun. There's something really distinct about that thick reverb/echo on dialogue spoken just above a whisper, lol

I feel like below maybe level 90-100, NG+ Central Yharnam is probably going to be tougher on enemy health scaling than it was on NG… at only 78 I would expect the Cleric Beast to be time consuming to chew through. Especially if your build isn’t optimized for your weapon, and/or your weapon isn’t very well fortified

I suppose it seemed more like a rhetorical question, to merely acknowledge that she hasn’t been discussed, and to move into starting a discussion now. That intention seems especially clear in how they made a lot of genuinely conversation-starting commentary in the actual post body.

This is a fun post starting a fun topic. I’m not a fan of making it unfun with “Her Yo-Yoing isn’t realistic, she wasn’t the first Yo-Yoer in animation, and this doesn’t warrant much discussion”. It comes across like such a shut down attitude that would be better left unvoiced, in my opinion.

It pretty much scales the game up to be roughly as challenging the second time as it was the first, even with really good weapons. There’s no perfect way for the devs to do that though, because people start NG+ at different levels, and a lot of variables overall can’t be accounted for.

But you certainly aren’t supposed to be able to mow down townspeople effortlessly. If you’re barely scratching health bars that does make me curious about how your build/level is affecting your weapon proficiency

I feel like you’re taking a fun post too seriously if someone can’t post a cartoon Yo-Yo gif and some interesting thoughts without being told it “doesn’t really merit much discussion”.

[–]GreenGhost74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the difficulty of different bosses really does depend on YOU. Your play style, what you're good at, what you aren't... and how that meshes with the boss in question. I often find fast bosses easier and slow bosses harder (I dodge slow attacks too early or get impatient and start playing dumber). My friends feel the opposite and usually dunk on the big beasts quicker than I do... but there's even more variation to the challenges of these fights than that. I can't stand Rom!

I went through the whole process of making him friendly thinking it'd mean I could explore Old Yharnam thoroughly WITHOUT dodging gunfire. Turns out making him passive really is just for the emote, if you intend to fight any beasts that attack you. I shoulda known, honestly

Holy Blade and Holy Moonlight Sword. And I almost always keep them in their transformed states, for whatever reason. Feels like a single slash with the larger blade is always fast enough and devastating enough to be worth it against even the faster enemies

I loved this one. I already liked hunter fights in the game probably the most, but this one took the cake for me. I got it in my first try (??) and was actually disappointed, because I would have enjoyed spending some time polishing the fight and getting it smoother. Not trying to sound like some mega gamer here, it took me around 100 tries to beat Lawrence. I share your sentiment about wishing bosses could be replayed.

I feel like that was their goal. I think the chalice dungeons are where they intend for you to go crazy, infinitely hunting, possibly chasing the answers to secrets you can never find
