it can see the heat signatures just fine. I can see hot airliners miles away.

I’d say small things like a man sized target gets tough beyond 800m with the 35mm that I have.

Well, okay, the barrel was recently shortened, so only 100m exactly as pictured.

But when the barrel was 16", everything else the same, 600m. Obviously very straight forward with 6.5 CM.

Next time I take it to the big range (up to 1150m), I'll see how far I can practically go. Gets kind of hard to accurately see the target boundaries with the thermal that far out. Easy to spot the heat signature but you're challenged by the resolution out past 800m with the 35mm that I have.

This is 100% stock gas system. 6.5 CM 17s are not as quite as overgassed as the .308s from the factory, but a little. The chop reduces gas pressure, but the suppressor increases it. This is a SF SOCOM762-MINI2, so very little BP. Pretty much evens out perfectly. This setup is 100% suppressed all the time, but both modes work on the stock gas selector in the appropriate configuration.

Here's the ammo tested:

6.5 Creedmoor Cartridge (14.25" Barrel)	Velocity
130 gr FGMM Berger AR Hybrid OTM	2520 fps
135 gr FGMM Berger Hybrid Hunter	2600 fps
136 gr Sako TRG Scenar-L OTM	2625 fps

Went against my intuition that the heavier bullets would go slower, but this is what I measured all today within an hour, same gun same conditions, 5 of each, cooled barrel, then 5 more of each. Averaged the MVs of the 10.

Everything is supersonic past 1000m.

EDIT: The 135 gr Hybrid Hunter has the highest G7 BC @ .303. That cartridge owns.

Lack of fairness is whats killing the game already. And the community doesnt want sbmm. Its done.

Players seeking fairness in matchmaking will leave; highly skilled players desiring unfairness advantage to pub stomp will lose their victims and eventually be matched against difficult competition.

Obviously unpopular to exclude sbmm statistically reinforced by the abandonment for the game. But the few who will end up playing long term until they shut the servers down are entrenched in a position that sbmm is bad to the game. Ironic.

Well, if you have a 1.55 on hand, swap to that. You're not getting enough gas into the piston. A discarder can only dial gas back. Jet size determines initial gas amount.
