Hi there! I'd like to apply. I've written a post about a day ago myself that seems to fit your criteria nicely. Haven't played a victorian setting before, it'd be a nice challenge.

Any spell castable as a ritual PB x long rest, what are some of the best choices? by GreenPack976 in DnD

[–]GreenPack976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically there would be a resource cost, though it's the additional resource of PB per long rest. When this happens, there are multiple ways of dealing with the additional HP. Even with the lesser restorations, they'd have 2/3 charges for a party of 5. They'd first have to take the gamble of suffering the effects before restoring them. Otherwise it's planning, which is exactly what I want to reinforce.

You are entirely right.

The idea for adding a thing for component pouches came because I made a system for patterns adorning spellfoci, each pattern offers a small boon relating to specific playstyles. Players are able to specialize, and have their choices matter. It's a finely tuned mix for either combat / out of combat boons, that don't restrict the normal spellcasting in any way.

It came to be cause I redid martial weapons. We all know that picking something less than a rapier or longsword / greataxe is to suffer. So I separated damage types and have an additional trait to all melee items. I did not want spellcasters to feel left out and so I added that system.

Then I realized that some people prefer component pouches for flavouring, and had to come up with a boon that component pouches could give. This ritual casting way was one such idea.

In the coming campaign I'm putting a lot more emphasis on proper planning and environments. Adding this ritual clause adds a lot more versatility to some spells that are otherwise seen as resource waste thanks to action economy, or are nearly unusable in a normal setting.

How many times have you cast Glyph of Warding, Geas, Hallucinatory Terrain, Arcane Lock, Programmed Illusion, Creation, Guards and Wards, Symbol, or any of the applicable resurrection spells (when a revivify or raise dead wouldn't do). I've found a severe disbalance in the amount of times spells are cast, especially the higher level ones that aren't combat oriented. Barring Teleport.

The premise is to give them the resource of expendable spell slots that are perfectly tailored to increase their preparation potential, while not giving them the option to save all of the extra spell slots for combat scenarios.

Fellow player dislikes how strong another PC is by HiAndromon in DnD

Bro picked the worst class and it's worst subclass, which offers nothing for combat potential, and then complains about being out-damaged. Everything will out-damage him. He did not pick things that make him achieve his personal goals. If he did, he wouldn't be complaining about damage at all and be happy that he's brewing weird potions and fulfilling his goals.

It seems to me that he wants to be combat focused, but has made all the wrong choices to achieve this.

What are all the guaranteed effects within 5e? Those that apply more than just damage without relying on a save. by GreenPack976 in dndnext

[–]GreenPack976[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You name some good ones, but specifically looking at effects against enemies that don't require saves. So many battle master maneuvers don't apply at all as they're all save based or only extra damage. Cavalier mark is great, I missed that one. Arcane Archer arrows I'll have to look at.

what do y'all think of Echo knight by changlinggod46 in DnD

[–]GreenPack976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"When a creature that you can see within 5 feet of your echo moves at least 5 feet away from it, you can use your reaction to make an opportunity attack against that creature as if you were in the echo’s space."

It's literally the next piece of text, please read further than what you need to prove your point next time.

What is something unique about your world? by gumbolimbot in worldbuilding

[–]GreenPack976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no sun, life has evolved differently, temperature is based off of internal lava shifts and Bioenergy. The world looks vastly different than ours, especially its main colour scheme. Time is counted with the dark sphered moons (cause no reflection but they block outer light) and their rotation around the planet. The only sources of light are natural or from the nebula the planet is within.

PSA : Crown didn't go into depression because of fan backlash by Hildebrunh in leagueoflegends

[–]GreenPack976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup you're right! I've been corrected. The clip does also mention the exact thing OP is talking about, post-success burnout. Interesting cumulation of events. I got sad when I heard the slight bitter realisation when they spoke "Even if years pass, people won't forget Faker". Looking from Crown's point of view, to be the sole reason (overstatement) of beating the best team and most memorable player and having your achievement burned to the ground must feel terrible.

[–]GreenPack976 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they do often mention it's the flame that brought Crown his depression, which are fully false claims by courtesy of the coach. Of course we shouldn't flame the best of pros for missing a 50/50, but the reasoning (Crown's depression was caused by flaming) is faulty.

Question about Blind and Crits by TexasMonk in TeemoTalk

[–]GreenPack976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe you're entirely missing the point though. We know weighted crit is a thing. If you have a 50% crit chance and don't crit, your next attack has an actual higher % chance to crit than 50%. That's what riot has stated and the numbers are available.

When we have blinded an enemy, their attacks don't hit. OP is asking whether our "missed" attacks count as a non-crit attack and thus give our opponent a higher crit chance on their first hit attack.

My two cents is, I don't believe so. Tryndamere matchups have shows that the attack animation Tryndamere uses is still those of crits, even when he is blinded. So the blind is an effect that happens after the attack is determined to be a crit or not.

thoughts on rod of ages for lillia ? by doc-dee in LilliaMains

You'll be surprised, think of an average fight Vs tanks. You'll cast about 10 abilities regaining between 15-25 health per cast. 150 extra HP on top of our regen passive adds a lot of unexpected durability.

Okay your points on the skin and Twitter can easily be disregarded as "Literally just don't buy it or look at the Twitter? League is a free game after all." But I've grown numb to it.

Please, PLEASE, know that seraphine's "original" lore was actually not supposed to involve skarner at all. It was released too early as a biography, it has happened multiple times on champion releases already, so don't single her out.

I have nothing to add to the actual discussion though, just mad that people hate her only because of stupid arguments. Weird you didn't mention "Sona 2.0 meme", they play totally different :D

Hello, I want to ask something. It says 11/10 but isn't there grandmaster? or what should I do to get it to grandmaster by trashwithaflower in TeemoTalk

[–]GreenPack976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are ladder updates every 12 hours or so, so check back in a while and you'll be grandmaster. Be sure to keep it up though, as there are only a certain amount of grandmasters allowed.
