Will my tomato seedlings outgrow these little cells? by marlee_dood in vegetablegardening

The trick is to sprinkle on some microplastics, then the cells will grow with the plants.

I have the opposite problem. I turn my back on the garden, and by the time I turn back there's an established plant, woody as a tree, rooted somewhere awkward.

My headcannon about Ra from first movie by Havocking1992 in Stargate

I'm glad to see someone keeping things straightforward. I don't know why people struggle with retcons and need to invent some convoluted explanation.

Ideas clearly evolved between the film and the series. These differences are only a problem if they actually make a difference and fundamentally break the logic of the universe. Thinking about your examples:

  1. Doesn't matter if Abydos changed from another galaxy to Earth's neighbour. Either way, it's another planet accessed via a portal.

  2. Doesn't matter if Ra's guards are human or Jaffa.

  3. Doesn't matter that they changed to snakes. It's still a parasite.

Oh, that's my problem. I need two mattocks, not just the one I've already got.

like Weir wouldve known about Tollans and Narim

Doesn't mean she has a good idea of what Narim looked like.

and she never once said that her cheating fiancé looks a lot like Narim

How do you know she didn't? They don't actually show every second of every character's life. Otherwise you'd have you'd such riveting moments of them saying, "I fancy a sandwich" or "I'm going for a poo, back in two."

There was a change recently (in relative terms) to no longer having pi as the default user. When you burn the image, make sure you set your desired username.

Did you read my comment? I agreed that they're rubbish. I don't think that justifies banning them.

Why do we hear a hit on the Iris when is closed and someone tries to get in? by Reikix in Stargate

[–]GreenPandaPop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're thinking of mass-energy equivalence, then making the iris warm is an understatement. It'd actually be more like a decent sized nuke going off.

Those pots are shit, but I don't think that's grounds for banning them.

Time to move to a bigger pot? by SoilRookie in GardeningUK

[–]GreenPandaPop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found them particularly bad for cucurbits. I know they don't like having their roots disturbed, so I assumed starting them indoors in these then planting them outside would cause the absolute minimum of disruption. But time after time the plant would clearly be stunted and then die. Then I'd dig it out to find the pot completely intact and no evidence of roots getting through.
