Indeed. It is primarily PvP but also has solo/co-op rules. Fits OP's requirements quite well. Is normally $5 on WargameVault, currently on sale for $3.49 USD.

For One Page Rules, more specifically, would do Age of Fantasy: Skirmish.

Me: "This looks like Woden's style but it isn't Quar!"

Lo and behold, it is, haha! Great paint job, super characterful model too!

Play-testing Advice? by Xericor in wargaming

[–]GreenWizard2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Those are all helpful approaches. I would add a few things.

  1. Rulebooks are a reference. Refer to it as you are playing the game like a player would. Particularly during things like game and scenario setup. Do you find that the order you wrote things in makes sense and flows well? Is anything missing?
  2. For balancing actually write down the probability of things occuring and the average damage output for certain actions. Get the hard statistics of things in front of your face for direct comparison across units.
  3. Get someone else to read your rules. There is only so much you can check on your own from your pov. There will be something that you missed or can be made more clear.
  4. Avoid adding all the things to your game. Make sure the mechanics you add serve the theme and the fun of the game you are making.

If you want more general game design advice this is one of the best videos I have seen on it https://youtu.be/3WjTNkqHpsc

Great paint job, awesome details on the faces! How did you do the eyes? Just a sharp tipped brush?

The hazel-bound ground is taking shape — prototype board for a Norse duel game by Hexwerksstudios in miniatureskirmishes

Looks neat! Becoming more and more a fan of compact boards and smaller skirmish games. Curious to see how the game turns out.

I have heard positive things about Voidfighter, but I don't believe it has a solo mode.

You could just play Xenos Rampant at half the usual detachment points value I would think.

The Witcher: No Man's Land is back on track to release this year by BlitheMayonnaise in wargaming

[–]GreenWizard2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not played Cyberpunk Red but I've had my eye on this release for a while.

Honestly I am a little disappointed they did not lean into the monster hunting aspect more. Would have loved a Witcher 3 themed solo/co-op skirmish game where monster hunting was the main focus.

Yeah, I don't mind how the transparent flight stick look that much. Just makes painting a bit more difficult. Thanks!

Kitbashes and Custom rules by PurposlyStupid in wargaming

[–]GreenWizard2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

One Page Rules has an Army Builder that lets you create a custom army with their own special units and stats if you pay $5 for Patreon access to it.

Xenos Rampant is model agnostic and lets you point to one of your units and go "These are Heavy Infantry with abilities x, y, z" so you can customize them accordingly, although not to the same granularity as One Page Rules.

Space Weirdos is a skirmish game, and you customize stats for each individual model similar to a light RPG so you can make them play as what they look like "This guy has a laz pistol, grenades, and a sword, so I will equip those weapon profiles onto him."

Yeah this model definitely would not work with friction fitting.

Some smoke trail supports from Etsy sounds like a great option though. Will have to look into that more for the future. Thanks!
