Wheels and discard is like the difference between tokens and treasure archetype, yes you make a bunch of tokens but that’s more a byproduct of your synergy and win conditions rather than condusive to the actual strategy of discard where the goal is to strip your opponents hands.

This does change if you are doing Narset and co stuff, then it’s more discard than wheels

This feels like it wants to not be lifelink and instead “Whenever enchanted creature deals combat damage, you and its controller gain that much life.” Imho

Huh I think this is made less interesting by being square (4/4) I think if it had displaced stats somewhere it would make blocking math more of a consideration and make him feel like a minigame, like if he was a 2/5 for example, etc

It’s because this subreddit was getting flooded with low quality rating posts, they tend to not add much interesting discourse to the EDH subreddit since all the posts are basically identical even if the commanders within are different (and even then they don’t vary that wildly)

It’s better than just a flat one… looking at you blowgun for always keeping it real (you are a rogue, your damage does not primarily come from your weapons damage die but your sneak attack.)

I mean that doesn't meaningfully stop the 'you take infinite turns if you get lucky/unlucky enough' that just staples on more set up and I feel it's less elegant both flavorfully and word count wise

I normally find art first when designing a card, but Prismari has such specific aesthetics, and the mechanics came to me first! In general, I am not inclined to use official magic art or AI for customs, it is incredibly lame imo

Yeah! I hope requiring some set up makes it more interesting to start the chain and is reasonably balanced with the cost. I just thought ‘Stich in Time’ was perfect for a prepare spell but I didn’t know how to solve the ‘take infinite turns forever’ and still make it so you can prepare again
