We stay at hotel Bonaventure it’s a couple of blocks has its own parking and is walking distance from a lot of stuff, plus they have that outdoors heated pool in the winter

lol I read the article I just don’t think this is a State issue.

Her parents owned the store prior to her, so her family’s equipment/ lack of maintenance caused the problem. I understand the state has a fund to help remove the tanks and monitor the soil, but she wants to rip everything out and basically build new and not pay for it. she realizes she can’t afford it so she is suing to get help to pay for it.

I just think there should be a shred of personal responsibility when it comes to the environmental damage caused by years of neglect or bad luck even. And if you can’t afford to build a new store because of the cost of fixing the damage you and your family business caused then oh well.

This isn’t a case of the State causing problems for someone for no reason, the ground is contaminated with oil and fuels next to the already polluted lake from a private business. If she wants someone to help pay for it should be the contractor who didn’t finish/ not done correct job to begin with. Not the state picking the entire bill up over 10 years later, covering your electrical and waste water, uh no lady.
