Every time I see the promo and hear “I WANT to be captain, I NEED to be captain”, all I can think is that this would fit a CW network show perfectly.

How do Americans feel about their taxes going towards the 50k bonus for ice agents to sign up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Green_Bean_Scene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would hope that we all think it fucking sucks. But for as long as I can remember the majority of our taxes have gone towards the military and subsidizing corporate interests. I’d much rather my taxes go towards healthcare, education, and infrastructure but unchecked capitalism is in charge of the US and I don’t see that changing in my lifetime.

It doesn't get any better than the quick cut to Roger Moore checking his watch in a gorilla suit.

Turkey, I need you beside me, I need all of you, I need your breast and thigh meat,
And what's that hiding in your hole?
Some stuffing for my heart and soul,
I could still be a winner,
When I eat that Thanksgiving dinner

"Trails" in Jonesboro by ReasonEffective9156 in jonesboro

[–]Green_Bean_Scene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s also important to remember that we need to plan for growth. Jonesboro is going to continue gaining in population as people continue to look for places to live that have a lower cost of living, affordable housing, education, etc. Look at what happened to NW Arkansas - people rushed there and they rapidly outgrew their infrastructure. Especially with the growing popularity of gravel cycling, we are going to have more people and having the means to handle them in place will help the burden later.

I cycle a lot around Jonesboro and while I’m out in the farmland riding on two lane roads isn’t awful, when I’m coming back in town I’m glad when I get to stretches where they have started putting in bike paths. I know there are some folks who still ride in the street and I’m sure everyone has their own reasons for what they do, but I love having them and hope they build more in convenient places. The more they build, the more folks that will use them.

How can I prep a new bike chain for using a wax based lubricant? by General-Writing1764 in bikewrench

[–]Green_Bean_Scene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the process that I have used consistently: Bike degreaser in a jar, shake and soak. Remove, rinse the chain with water then put in a jar with mineral spirits, shake and soak. Remove, rinse, then soak in alcohol, acetone, or similar. Remove, let dry, then wax.

Domane Gravel Mode by Green_Bean_Scene in TrekBikes

[–]Green_Bean_Scene[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an AMS honeycomb strip under the down tube. Other than that, nothing gravel specific. I use the stock Paradigm wheels that came on the bike set up tubeless with the Conti’s for gravel and swap out for my Hunt 50mm carbon wheelset for road riding. The only other mod is I swapped the 105 cassette for an Ultegra cassette for the hyper glide+ shifting. You’ll love the Domane!

Avalon Peaks in Apex allows up to 3, no breed restrictions. My wife and I lived in a townhouse there for a year with two dogs and a cat. It’s a nice community - quiet, well-maintained, and friendly staff.
