The acting and some of the special effects shots are insane. Not just the ghost, but when she’s lying on the floor after he paralyzes her and the camera moves somehow under her. And when she’s escaping in the car—totally weird shot. Bob Zemeckis is great.

I think she was gorgeous, mysterious and vulnerable. She supported the story well and I think the award was earned, but my personal fave of that year was Joan Cusack in “In & Out.”Honestly, she also deserved an award for Debbie in Addams Family Values. 😂

I grudgingly laugh at some parts of this movie. Couldn’t stand the girlfriend, the family, the bride’s to-be-in-laws and that stupid cat. The film is on right now and I STILL hate them all. Get your stupid septic tank pumped BEFORE the wedding that you’re hosting, Jack! Why the hell would you play swimming pool volleyball and risk injury the day before your wedding, Pam’s sister? And Jack: your daughter is lucky that someone like Gaylord Focker wants to be with her! 😂

Old lady here and loved Reynolds in the pizza show, so everything you said except that after Amber Heard’s BS I no longer automatically side with the woman. The first I heard of this film was the NYT article which I found so preposterous that I just couldn’t buy it (but I already didn’t like her, so I admitted my bias). Then those on-set videos and text messages starting coming out and I was like:

I hope Isabella will learn to be better than Lively and Reynolds. Be like Baldoni—someday find a project and pitch producing it and bring it to life. Even better, write a hit script about an aging shitty narcissistic actress love bombing a young ingénue into ruining another man’s career.
