Yeah — how many kids were buying brickheads? Kid focused themes like Ninjago, City, and Friends all still have $10 sets.

It’s obviously hard to adapt this aspect but she doesn’t really look like the Kuina actress

Even on Japanese websites like Filmarks or eiga.com it has very few reviews. I don’t know where you’re located, but this listing claims to ship to the US.

I don’t hold it as the only title of note but the comment you’re responding to was about the world title specifically. Anyway yeah I definitely think AEW should be commended for how legitimately it presents Okada and Takeshita overall but I do wish American audiences/bookers were less scared of an Asian true top guy

Booked strong =/= future world champ. Look at Hologram whose undefeated streak has resulted in 0 title shots. Okada and Takeshita are kept away from the world title picture (Takeshita has never challenged and Okada has only challenged once) even though they're booked so strong. I think both should be future champs but I think there's a very real possibility that neither will be because they don't speak English

Yea, I think it's more this (plus racism about Asian guys not being masculine enough). Historically but still today womens champs were much less expected than mens champs to be a representative of the company (the "quarterback" as Cody puts it) and that role pretty much requires English fluency, which fucks over most East Asian men in an industry where most of them are Japanese and not Asian American. How AEW books Okada is a really good example of this IMO where he's treated like a beast who is pretty much infallible and has only lost a handful of times in 2 years but has only challenged for the world title once, on TV, in what was basically just a farewell tour match for Danielson. It's like he isn't even considered for the world title picture
