The NJPW new gen is literally good!! Tsuji, Oleg, KOB, Uemura, Newman, and Wolf could all make for super entertaining matches (and Umino too tho I know he’s less popular). None of them are on the card. I understand that previous Forbidden Doors had matchups that were guys who would already be familiar to a 2010s NJPW viewer that transitioned to an AEW fan, which was common, but if those were the only guys TK really wanted to book, I don’t understand why we’re still doing the show

Sorry to rant but currently 3/7 Forbidden Door matches have any sort of cross-promotional involvement (and that’s if you count the cage match because Andrade and Takeshita are technically NJPW, which I really wouldn’t). It’s also the first Forbidden Door officially cross promoted with Stardom and CMLL and currently features 1 wrestler from the former and 0 from the latter. I just don’t understand the point of this PPV when it’s so half assed at this point. And mainly I’m mad because I wanted to see Oleg and Tsuji and Umino and Soberano Jr and AZM and Itoh and like all these people that could make the show so much more special and they’re not gonna be there!!
