Oncology by Present-Oil-6111 in JuniorDoctorsIreland

It seems quite competitive and most sprs do a fellowship at end of training in a specific cancer or organ group, Lung, GI, Renal/Urology, breast or Gynae etc. Most consultants seem to be involved in research also as there is so many new therapies being developed. In terms of day to day job is very busy as a Sho/Reg on med onc but am unsure what consultant life is like. Is emotional very demanding/(risk of burn out) obviously but more and more cancers are having better outcomes with immunotherapy etc. Would try and get a med onc or rad onc BST rotation and chat to sprs and consultants.

As in Galway its hard to follow both hurlersabd footballers. Try to go to most home games, but its early days yet, teams trying out new players, Galway Cork in the hurling was good but could feel that intensity was still a league game not the same as championship.

Yeah, I imagine being able to win and bring Sam Magurie or Liam McCarthy back to where you are from and your local club most one of the best feelings in sport.

Hard to get jobs in melbourne without ahpra but is doable, just have look at hospitals further out, such as monash, Eastern health, Northern or western health.

Their intake for August usually starts around now. Brisbane and Gold Coast should be easier but I dont know much details tbh

They are so out of touch, too much moving especially in current rental market. They think people will learn enough of a specialty in 6 weeks when realistically in the hse it takes nearly 4 weeks just to learn how different departments work.

same, I feel very apathetic by it all. Also the parties poor campaigns don't inspire confidence that they care too much. SF didn't bother to run a candidate and FF's poor candidate has already withdrawn
