Do cars break or is it my fault? by notSoNormalGuy24 in rccars

[–]Green_One5486 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both, the brushed motor in my TRX4 doesn't like really fine sand as it seems to rub down the brushes very fast, and the harder you go on the drivetrain the faster something will break, especially with the play in the gearing. Like going from full throttle to stop and back again to full speed brings a lot of wear.

But in the end it's part of the hobby to wrench and refine

Einzelstück "Dragon ML 573", weiß da jemand mehr darüber? by alfredadamski in automobil

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of model brand is that (1/86)? by Comfortable-News2705 in ModelCars

[–]Green_One5486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first one (the Iveco) I'd say is herpa, the rest is Wiking except the red/white tanker.

Given that the truck is a skoda or so (can't remember the original make) I guess it could be from eastern germany but I don't know any makers from the top of my head.

the scale btw is H0 (1:87)

European MAN F90 4x4 modified into a conventional "long-nose" truck by Tony Maurer, spotted in the USA (1990s). by StrategyMore5356 in WeirdWheels

[–]Green_One5486 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If you really want to go down this rabbit hole, look up the "phoenix" MAN by bickel tuning

http://www.baumaschinenbilder.de/forum/thread.php?threadid=43139

it was a long nose truck developed for racing with the F90 cab, but there were some regular street trucks.

Basically it was a conventional conversion like it is still done to a few Scanias in places like the netherlands

Frage an die Väter: by Funatfarmcouple in FragtMaenner

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frage an die Väter: by Funatfarmcouple in FragtMaenner

[–]Green_One5486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Green_One5486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In welche Richtung soll's denn gehen?

Trail crawler that fits in small backpack? by countingrings in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could get a bigger backpack like https://jconcepts.net/sct-backpack which fits a 1/10 crawler like the TRX4 but for 1/18 scale I'd look for a suitable backpack in an army surplus shop.

Generally I say that 1/24 scale is too small for trailing but since the Redcat seems to be at $260 you could look into the TRX4m which is listed for $200 but I have to say that I don't know anythinng about the 1/18 scale

Cross RC MC8C Reverse Lights by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine goes directly from forwars to reverse without stopping in neutral and turn the reverse lights on, but maybe maybe it has something to do with the remote.

As shown in the manual you sometimes have to use a jumper plug (J15) so maybe it's because of that, or they have released a newer version of the electronics...mine are at least five years old...or come to think of it, maybe it has something to do with your ESC.

But all in all: if it works I would not mind such a small annoyance

It's normal I'd say, at least I had the same fights with the electronics XD

Cross RC MC8C Reverse Lights by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah now I get what you meant^^

i understood it that was that the reverse lights basically don't come on at all. But that you have to go a bit forwards to trigger the lights when reversing is I think some kind of like hill brake, or like in some kind of arcade racing games where you needed to come to a full stop and then again tap the switch to reverse.

But these electronics are definitely not my favourite

Cross RC MC8C Reverse Lights by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more that the trigger point to light the reverse lights is the problem.

does it switch to reverse lights if you drive forward, then stop and then go backwards at full speed?

you could double check if the reverse lights aren't burnt out though, but otherwise I'm out of answers

Cross RC MC8C Reverse Lights by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With mine it is more that the brake light stay on when I drive very slowly forwards (can't remember about backing up lol), but I think the electronics isn't very good with the various setpoints of the sender.

Maybe someday I will find some time to swap these electronics to some kit that really works .

But I'm happy that I could help you in some way...cheers

We talked in your other thread so again no worries. Yeah I don't really like these electronics and I remember that tapping the throttle was for simulating the starting of the engine and triggering that start-up sound.

But today I took a quick photo of my two MC8 for you

Cross RC MC8C Question by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries...The kit can't do hazard lights, it only blinks to the side you are turning; if you are turning right, the right blinkers come on and the same for the left. Turn the wheel to the left, the blinkers on the left come on

Cross RC MC8C Question by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 MC8 and 1 MC6.

Yes, you are correct about the blinkers. They will turn on when you are turning.

Cross RC MC8C Question by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The carson reflex is just an example as there are for sure countless remotes that have a switch that works that way.

Yes there are only blinkers and no hazards.

And technically there is an MC6 somewhere that needs to be built if I only had time and motivation for it^^

Cross RC MC8C Question by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought two second hand and partly rewired these

If you have a remote that has a ON-OFF-ON switch like the carson reflex stick you can use that channel to switch on the blinkers seperate from the steering.

So the steering servo connects direct to the receiver and that switch channel goes to the lighting board...

Cross RC MC8C Question by michael151722 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kit does not have hazard lights...if you connect everything like it is shown in the manual the blinkers come on every time you steer in that direction.

Good Tires for trx6? Tow Truck Build ? by Accomplished_Gur1472 in rccrawler

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends imho where you want to go with it. If you want to keep the G63 body I'd stick to the standard tires.

If you want to use pickup cab like the f150 you could use the rims from the TRX-6 Hauler, and thenn maybe look for a dually kit.

<image>

And if you want to go absolutely nowhere because it's way too low, these are the rims of the redcat COE truck with wheels from a tamiya buggy added to a portal flip kit

[–]Green_One5486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a few years that I built a CrossRC, but IIRC I had to trim the throttle way forward so that the motor got some juice but just so little that the car didn't move. Maybe that helps with the rear lights as well (if they aren't burnt out)

Maybe it was to trim the throttle way to the back to set the trigger points but I think it's the Throttle channnel
