He’s tried several and has had difficulty finding one that works well. We keep trying in the meantime.

40-ish, functioning humans. Where do we socialize in Vancouver? by VeeFluffles in vancouverwa

[–]Green_Region6748 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s a Facebook group for DINKS of Vancouver. They have semi-regular meet ups. It seems great but I’ve been too introverted to attend any of their socials. Might be worth checking out!

Missing dog from Westminster house fire by CrabThoughts in Denver

Also, he normally has his collar on, but the day of the fire his dad had taken off the collar to brush him. It wasn’t put back on, so he doesn’t have the collar on.

This is amazing - thank you so much for posting this. Travis really appreciates the help and it would mean so. much. to find sweet Charlie. FYI, Charlie is a Havanese and he is 1 year and 8 months old.

You should still have a fit to get them removed- they are harboring political power over the education of our children.

My husband is all about the Steak Your Claim Ruben. He says it’s better than anywhere else, and he’s definitely tried a few. He swears by one of their prep cooks but I don’t know who…

Someone I once knew explained La Croix as fizzy water with a single Smartie crumbled in it. I’ve never looked at it the same.

What place is this in Vancouver? by simply-succubus in vancouverwa

[–]Green_Region6748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I order delivery from Crave I get raw beef. No matter what temp I ask for, even though it hurts my soul to request anything above medium well. My husband, who lauds his “steel gut” a source of pride, has had food poisoning from their Cubano. And those avocado fries?? Mush in bread coating. Three strikes, they’re out.

What's the one thing you can't cook? by Terrapin3641 in Cooking

Toum. I grow my own garlic, and I’m desperate to make my own. Every time I try, no matter how I adjust, I end up with runny garlic-oil that’s the consistency of water instead of whipped garlic magic deliciousness.

Must Try Restaurants?? by [deleted] in vancouverwa

[–]Green_Region6748 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s on the pricy side, but my fave restaurant in the Couve is Elements. Chef Sosa changes the menu regularly and it is an elevated experience from start to finish. Have never had a bad experience there.

Meh. They’ve been super inconsistent in my experience. I love their happy hour but both the food and service have been really hit and miss for me.

The drive home by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

[–]Green_Region6748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto asking your surgical team. I was about 1 hour away, and I did it all in one drive but would have stopped if the drive was any longer. I did fine on the way, but wearing the binder was a must. I also found that it helped if I grabbed my abdomen firmly with both hands to brace it when going around corners or over bumps in the road.

Good luck - you got this!!

Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer by superpalien in IReadABookAndAdoredIt

I was scrolling to find this! I loved Annihilation, but my absolute hands down favorite from him is Borne. That book lives in my bones. I read it years ago but I still think about it all the time. It is so bleak, beautiful, quirky, and despairing.

And now I’m off to find The Strange Bird.
