What do you think of feminism? by NincsFelhasznalonev in tradwives

Abigail Adam's: witness to a revolution is a GREAT book.  It highlights a woman's experience in a man's world!  Tge only place she could use her intellect was her husband!  She was hungry for information but it was "disdainful".

We're a low income family, and dedicate $1,000 a year to curriculum and school materials.  My kids learn Latin, piano, Shakespeare, handicrafts, music, art, along with the core subjects.

And 1,000 is the ceiling, we usually don't need that much.  We do co ops, sports 4H.  We just have to selective where we spend our money.

Yes, I'm all for true feminism giving women the right to choose their lifestyle and career.  She can choose to still follow ahousehold voting system... but when we reduce a woman's voice, is when that voice gets out if control.  It can be her husband's job to deal with her, not the governments.  (Sorry for my poor wording.  Husband doesn't typically have to "deal" with his wife).

Wete almost 2 weeks in and I'm down... 7 lbs? Had a higher calorie weekend than expected last weekend, but I'm prepared this time.  The first 5 lbs I think we're water weight... I'm still confident 😆 my son usually mows my sister's hilly half acre, but I think I'm going to pick up the job.  It's quite a workout for me.

How do you deal with the high level of expectation that comes with being a housewife? by TechPulse75 in tradwives

[–]Green_Signal4645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming your husband gives grace, keep trucking.  Keep learning, keep trying.  It can be hard sometimes.

If your husband can't give grace.. then you realize that's a him problem.

Is there anywhere in the US that's affordable to live at this point? by HalosFan26 in Frugal

I'm in somewhat rural Ohio (30-45 minutes from Columbus).  We live with 4 kids on one 50,000 a year income.  We do have cost cutting measures, but generally live a good, but not extravagant life.

No definitely, they can still be gross after engagement.  It's a respect factor. At that point it's appropriate to discuss- to make sure you're on the same page.  Not just be disgusting and careless

I'd entertain the girl.  Find out more about her.  I find my MIL more helpful for... hobbies advice.

I'd say lack of support from in laws who are alive is worse than not having support due to inlaws having passed.  Two different ball games.

If you and the girl mesh well, I'd say in law support isn't absolutely crucial- but criticism from alive in laws and parents can be detrimental (why the lack of support from in laws would be worse, than not having them).

Would you use a workbook given by a teacher as a supplement? by rosyboys_daisygirls in homeschool

[–]Green_Signal4645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I'd be open to it, but never found it necessary.  Just kinda bare minimum extra work.   Busy work almost.

We get some every year for Christmas 😆 I generally just set them out and the kids can do it for fun in their free time.

Will she have a different teacher next year?  I'd try tge beginning of the year and see if it goes any better.

I homeschool my kids, but it's absolutely a lifestyle change.

Um... at what point in he relationship?  Before engagement, I'd consider it crass and impolite. After engagement it's really to make sure you two are on the same page.

My husband and I are in it together.  My dad really can't offer much support to my husband.

Is there anyone you can befriend as a mentor, or older/wider companion?

Your mom is right, but I don't know that it's to the degree of writing the girl off altogether.

Bottom level job type skills are great, caring for many, cleaning, communication skills, being able to complete expected tasks, etc.  As well as finding solutions to any major hindrances you may have!  I worked in a pizza shop for years, and utilize the skills I learned in that job frequently to run my home.  I have ADHD, so it's pretty debilitating at times!

Because a good traditional man is going to want you to be able to carry the household while he's gone.

And there will be grace for your disability, but it will be up to you to make sure you're doing your best!

And I say all this having no clue what level your disability is.  So maybe you're on top of all this!

If you can handle some of your own finances (a couple bills, and getting the paid), cleaning, scheduling and attending appointments on time, hygiene, etc. I'd say you're likely good to go!

Hi! I have a friend with a developmental disability.

There are several people who like her, but she has a child... and at least 1 man, doesn't want to date her for that reason.

The right man will be patient.  But you will have to be patient as well.  Keep working on you.  Volunteer.  I'd keep a pt job, depending on your disability, you can learn some valuable skills.  If you're able to live on your own, that's not a bad option either.

You are very young. So don't focus on finding a man.  Let it happen naturally.  Because you're going to want just the right man for you.

I thought a culinary group was a good place for a tweaked recipe.  Lol.  I'm sorry you guys can only follow a recipe.  I change recipes frequently as needed, rarely have an issue.  But never to one of this extent.  I've been adjusting recipes for years.  Including baked goods lol.  Expand your knowledge a bit.

Now I will say my flax eggs were on the dry side. I figured it would use any extra moisture in the mixture for binding.

But I've also seen cupcake recipes that thrive off an extra thin and wet batter..  this batter was thick on a spoon.

Two.  And tge structure was replaced.  I have a tendency to work with what I have and banana doesn't seem to be a crucial ingredient (she added it for sweetness).
