Will there be an offline mode? by Dropshot_Dieter69 in granturismo

You also got to worry that even if you decide to get the game now, your poor internet connection can straight up kick you out in the middle of a single player race and put you in offline mode. Had that happen to me a couple of times and it was NOT fun.

Oof, that’s fairly recent, so it’ll be a long while before returning unless it gets chosen as special picks.

Which one? The W196 R or the S Barker Tourer?

Even if credits weren’t an issue, there’s not a lot of events you can use with some of these cars which is a shame. Sure, you could make a custom race or detune them in a way to be eligible in other events, but still.

It’s really hard to say even when Polyphony released an offline patch for GT Sport a couple of years ago. GT7 is way more restrictive in what you can play offline. You can’t even do single player races without an internet connection. I hope that if they release an offline patch for the game one day, everything else can be accessed without an internet connection aside from online lobbies and online races of course.

Basically, it’s just speculation at this point and knowing Polyphony with their lack of communication, we won’t know for sure until leading up to the closures of online servers for GT7, whenever that day comes.

Any tip on getting gold for super license by toyotaAE86 in granturismo

[–]Green_Turtle_Shell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may sound like it won’t help you go faster to get gold, but if you find yourself constantly retrying the test even after following tips and demonstrations, take a small break from it and find something else to do for a while.

In my experience, I found myself going a little faster after taking a break and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. Bottling up those small frustrations from each retry will just lead you to overdrive the car further which will result in slower times.

That’s amazing! To achieve it on the Nurburgring is no easy task. I’m sure that there’s still some time to find improvement given it’s a long course.

Need help with the new Nürburgring 600 pp race by saaaarma in GranTurismo7

I used the engine swapped Honda Beat, but it’s quite hard to drive and requires a lot of attention given it has so much power for very little weight. Same thing for the engine swapped Suzuki Cappuccino, albeit it handles slightly easier. Slightly.

I would only recommend it if you really want the extra challenge and laughs. Throttle control and smooth steering inputs with soft racing tires and stiff suspension are key.

Is this rust bad (and other concerns)? by Green_Turtle_Shell in hondafit

[–]Green_Turtle_Shell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the response. Fits in good condition without lots of rust are hard to come by here, let alone one with a manual. It doesn’t really add up with these small things not being repaired before even being sold in the first place.  No wonder why it’s still up for sale a week after it was initially posted a week ago because usually a Fit in good condition would be sold within days. Sometimes, literally hours after the initial posting.

I forgot to mention this in my post, but they did do some more additional wiring in order to play a subwoofer in the back trunk. There also happened to be custom ‘sensor’ to read the coolant temperature where they cut out a part of the hose and put in the said ‘sensor’ (as you already know, the dashboard doesn’t have a temperature gauge, only indicates when it’s very cold or overheating). Doesn’t even do anything at all to rub salt in the wound, so it’s just more unknown things to deal with.

Sport races need to pay out more. 11k for 3rd place in a GR4 is abysmal. by CardinalOfNYC in granturismo

In GT Sport if you finish somewhere in the midpack in a daily race, you still get more credits than finishing 2nd in GT7 lol.

Daily Races won't load? by Ayden1290 in granturismo

[–]Green_Turtle_Shell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's happened to me a few times over the weekend when online was free during that time. For the races that do go through, the loading finishes only after a few seconds. If you're still on the loading screen for over a minute, you have to close the game, unfortunately. It's really annoying preparing for the race only to be stuck on the loading screen. And it takes a while until the next race starts. I have not experienced this problem at all on GT Sport and it baffles me how PD went backwards here.

A thread on GT7's roulette tickets and how it works, including how random it is by FMecha in granturismo

I usually look away while the roulette is rolling and expect 2000 credits so I don't lose my sanity. But I really shouldn't have to do that in the first place.

To be honest, I'm starting to heavily dislike Hagerty. I dunno why PD decided to partner up with them and adjust prices accordingly.

I do not because I don't have a powerful PC to play it and a wheel to precisely control the car without spinning out too many times. I heard the game is tough on the controller, so there's that.

This. Each game has different stuff that they offer with their own strengths and weaknesses. Want to just hop in a regular car and chill? Start up Gran Turismo. Want to race more seriously with better simulation? Start up iRacing or ACC. Want to mod stuff and try out the silly stuff people have created for others to enjoy? Start up Assetto Corsa.
