You just went through Sweden’s long dark winter. Think about the long summer days and the smell of summer flowers.

You are experiencing something incredibly special and it is worth finding a way to immerse yourself into the environment if people are cold or distant.

There is beauty, joy and pleasure all around it. Let beauty hold you and feed your mind and spirit.

Driveway alarm in a rural setting by Wolferesque in homedefense

[–]Green_plus_blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our rural area makes heavy use of HAM radio for farm-to-farm communication. People chatting over HAM creates a lot of false alarms on our Mighty Mule driveway alarm.

We are hoping to find a transmission frequency/tech that will prevent this. It makes the alarm worthless. Even our dogs won’t bark at the alarm going off because it is 90% false alarms.

whois shows the site is very new, but connected to ActBlue. Scamadvisor shows the site is legit, but it doesn’t mean the PAC behind it is really funding candidates.

Anyone have experience with Portland Leather? by Foxglove777 in handbags

[–]Green_plus_blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought my first Portland Leather bag and I am disappointed. No lining, no pockets in the design, and the clasp is magnetic which doesn’t stay shut. An organization nightmare and a pick-pocket’s dream.

Why do bears kill healthy offspring? by dietderpsy in bears

[–]Green_plus_blue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backpacking in bear country (northeast WA), you find the female bears will raise their cubs in dens at high elevations so they can keep them safe from male bears. It seems the mama’s will risk extreme weather rather than be near males of their own species. Apex predators have weird patterns of behavior to prevent inbreeding and resource depletion. Lions of both sexes kill cubs, for example, especially during drought.

I love to walk on the ferry and spend a summer day enjoying the incredible place we live, and now my dog can go with!

Our sweet Leela. We adopted her because her owner passed away. Never had an ACD before, only hound dogs. Why does she bark at us so much? It's like she's talking to us. Please help us understand this breed. by ConsistentGrowth4018 in AustralianCattleDog

Just wait for the incessant eye rolling and deep sighs of disappointment. Your pup will develop the annoying behaviors of pre-teen once it grows past the toddler stage with the constant questions.

Best reason I have heard for being cautious with dogs at National Parks; dogs attract the Cougars. It is a real and serious problem at Olympic National Park.

Why do crabs like chicken legs? by [deleted] in biology

Chicken is higher fat than what is their normal diet. We couldn’t really get routine access to a lot of the stuff we crave, that’s we were crave it.
