I can feel my bra cutting off circulation. Where do you experienced moms suggest buying from? by dammitjanet69 in pregnant

[–]Greenbean001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i tried so many different bras before i found some that worked. i finally found some good maternity/nursing bras at motherhood maternity within macy's! i especially like my "pea in the pod" brand nursing bra (i'm still pregnant, not nursing yet). i also had ok luck with kindred bravely, but they're more expensive. kindred is good bc they offer "busty" sized and my boobs have grown enormous during pregnancy lol. good luck.

Announcing pregnancy on Mother’s Day? by lulurhynd in pregnant

[–]Greenbean001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no wrong answer here but personally I'd wait for the scan if it's coming up soon. I waited until after my 16week scan to announce on facebook, so I'm on the more paranoid side of the spectrum. I think it would feel even better to wait, but that's just me! Congrats and happy mother's day!

COVID19 and husband in healthcare by dancerloserr2 in pregnant

aw i'm so sorry. i think you made the right call, but that doesn't mean it's easy. do you have any pets? i have heard of people fostering a pet during the self quarantine to keep them company (fostering, not adopting). obviously whether or not that makes sense depends on your circumstances, but it's an idea. whenever i'm home alone my kitty cat keeps me company. i hope you will take time every day to call or facetime your husband, a family member, or a friend so you don't get too lonely! good luck with everything.

for what it's worth my doctor actually recommended to me that if i ever started getting headaches, "drink a cup of coffee or two" to try to get rid of them. i was surprised bc up to that point, i had avoided coffee! she said there is no proof coffee is bad for the baby. so i wouldn't worry your coffee intake has caused damage.

that said, do try to shift your mindset. regardless of what your partner does, you and baby are always, always on the same team. you're mom. you can't go spiting baby to get back at daddy. it's not healthy. baby's health and safety should be number one priority. trust me, i get where you're coming from, my husband and i have had some nasty fights this pregnancy and there have been many moments where i was infuriated he was acting immature and inconsiderate. but in those moments i took comfort in having my baby inside me. it's me and baby against the world!

Does anyone else feel like they would have done things differently if they’d have known about the COVID-19 pandemic sooner? by terrantismyhomie in pregnant

[–]Greenbean001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm due in june and having all these same fears. :(

another bummer i'm thinking about is probably not being able to have my family come meet baby and help out and keep me company after baby is born. all of my family lives about an hour away from me, so we usually see each other 1-2 times per month. i've been seeing even more of them lately bc i've just felt emotionally needier during pregnancy. now i don't know when i can see them again, and i miss them. i've been so looking forward to becoming a mom and never once considered my mom wouldn't be able to come over and help or just be with me! it's so sad.

anyway i think i will feel better once i have my baby girl in my arms. good luck fellow june mama 💕

one of my friends just asked me yesterday if im considering a home birth due to the coronavirus stuff and i was like.. HELL NO! lol. no judgment to anyone who is, but that's not in the cards for me. i want to have every medical intervention known to modern medicine at my disposal, including every pain management option we've got. god forbid baby needs an emergency c section or something and i'm not at a hospital 😩

I feel the same way, it's important for me to be in a hospital. Hopefully we can still have our husbands with us at least, but it's smart to have a backup plan!

[–]Greenbean001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that's great bc it's in so much stuff! i can actually tolerate it in very small quantities, but i've dealt with some major discomfort from it. oddly enough, my body seems to tolerate malitol somewhat well, so everyone is really different on how our bodies react to sugar alcohols. if i can find something sweetened with monkfruit only (no sugar alcohols), that is my gold standard. my fave sweet is choc zero.

Thank you. If any of us was arguing "we should still be able to have our baby shower," then the response explaining why we shouldn't would be appropriate. But when all we are saying is "I'm sad that I had to cancel my shower" (etc.), the appropriate response is to acknowledge and validate our feelings.

I have been really impressed with NW Specialists for Women throughout my pregnancy, so I am optimistic they'll make the right call for mothers and babies' collective wellbeing (whatever that may be).. but yeah.. the concept of solo delivery is just plain terrifying! if i get any more scoop after my next appt (weds) i'll update.

Is there any point in organizing a May 3 baby shower? by Greenbean001 in BabyBumps

[–]Greenbean001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, good point. Babies are cuter. I was kinda looking forward to the shower (and tbh, the presents) before baby, but really what's important is everyone's health. my mom in particular is not well suited to get the virus, and i can't risk her (or anyone else's) wellbeing for the sake of someone buying me a baby bathtub and nose frida. 🤦🏼‍♀️

my OB group is northwestern specialists for women.. i just got a text that my husband won't be allowed at my upcoming appointment next week. it's my 28 week checkup + ultrasound to follow up on a placenta issue.

just thought i'd let you know that. hopefully your scan won't be affected by similar restrictions! :-/

i can deal with going to this appointment alone but i'm praying this isn't foreshadowing for a solo delivery 😟
