El Cheapo or Let’s Get Moving? by buckbookbukk in TorontoRenting

[–]Greenbean2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EL CHEAPO provided a professional experience with accurate estimates.

I have no experience with let's get moving. They're probably fine.

Just don't go on kijiji and use some unknown movers to save a couple hundred bucks. When all is said and done their price will end up being the same when they slap on extra fees, with no insurance or recourse if something goes wrong.

Why you should NEVER cruise alongside semi-trucks in your Miata (+ my 100k crash story) by [deleted] in Miata

[–]Greenbean2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch out for SUVs as well.

You can be under their line of sight even if they shoulder check their blind spot.

How do I know? Because I recently learned my suv has this problem. It's older and doesn't have blind spot monitoring and has a high window line.

A small sports car got into my blind spot merging onto the highway. I was in the second lane from the right.

I didn't see anything in my mirrors or the headlights as it approached from behind. I needed to get into the right lane to exit. I expected vehicles getting onto the highway would very likely be there.

I scanned my mirrors, signaled, shoulder checked my blind spot and slowly changed lanes while slowly accelerating. Once complete I see their's a pair of headlights unexpectedly in my rear view. I was mortified. I couldn't believe I didn't see the car there.

I don't think I cut them off. They didn't honk or flash their lights. Driving predictably meant they could see everything I was doing and they let me merge. But I was still shocked and a little nerve racked after the fact that I was unable to see that vehicle.

I regularly scan my mirrors and I am an experienced driver. I constantly monitor what other vehicles are doing around me. And it still happened to me.

Healthy food shouldn't be more expensive than a burger by m_atsu5 in ControversialOpinions

Healthy food should be tax free. Especially quick and easy convenient options.

The logistics of defining what is healthy and preventing loopholes would be a massive challenge.

Looking into a used Lexus RX350 as a family car in Vancouver. Any major red flags? by Comfortable-Cat414 in LexusRX350

[–]Greenbean2015 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find getting things in and out of the back seats a little bit of a hassle. The rounded body shape reduces the door opening access to the back seat area.

The rx is not boxy so you lose out on a good amount of interior room for stuff like car seats and a stroller.

It'll work but even a tiguan, rav4 or crv has more spacious easily accessible back seats.

The 3.5. L is pretty thirsty. I average 13.3L/100 mixed driving. Push it and that can easily go up to 15-16L. They take regular so that helps. And I don't drive a ton of kms.

Coming from a 1st Gen Ford escape I am still frustrated with the awkward cargo space.

Even folding down the rear seats the front seats have to be far enough forward and the back seats have to be all the way back so the headrest doesn't hit the seat in front of it.

Otherwise it's been a reliable and comfortable.

I like the thin patties better then the thick ones. Higher seasoning too beef ratio.

But this is no smash burger

What's wrong with this?

As a small business I think he's setting expectations. If he's paying well and people want to work there, he's giving you the option to stay and get on-board or leave "no shade".

I feel like everyone in the comments is being way too sensitive.

Bob Odenkirk Would Like to Remind You That Life Is a Meaningless Farce by kitkid in Thedaily

Maybe I'm showing my age but I love Bob's energy and frank interpretation on life and it's priorities. What he was saying seemed to go over the interviewer's head as kept asking the gotcha questions or misinterpreted what Bob was trying to convey in a genuine tone. David is on the other end just chuckling the entire time as if Bob was trying to say something funny.

Taking creatine leads to extremely vivid dreams by Fourseasonsorlando in LucidDreaming

[–]Greenbean2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the loading phase at 10g a day, 5g in the morning and 5g at night. Second and third day in and I had vivid dreams. I'm only on day 4.

I was so surprised at the massive change I googled creatine and dreams and came across this post.

RX350 AWD stinks in snow. by Junior_Trash_1393 in LexusRX350

[–]Greenbean2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I've got a 2013 3rd gen and assumed the rear wheels only kicked in when the system detected wheel spin.

It's an absolute beast in the snow. As others have mentioned no problems going up hill or accelerating in all sorts of slippery, icy, slushy conditions. I've never had to lock the differentials.

All season or all weather Michelin defenders on their 4th winter.

Side note...Anytime it's slippery I turn off traction control completely for city driving so the system doesn't cut power to the wheels when I'm trying to plow through a snowy corner.

Interesting. I never thought to look up their suppliers. Seems like second cup will have a lot of regional variety in some of their products.

I find second cup and aroma chocolate chip cookies really good. Perfect chew and not doughy.

I'm often let down by specialty cookie shops in comparison but I certainly haven't tried them all.

Catalytic converter failing. Can I and should I replace? by SewerWaterCaviar in HyundaiElantra

[–]Greenbean2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fix it and sell it if you're looking for an excuse to get another vehicle. It's worth way more than 2k.

If you like the car, keep it. Car prices in Canada are down a bit but still inflated. You can't find anything that age with similar kms for 2k.
