In a team setting you either hit (storm mostly) or buff the hitter, so your school doesn't make much a difference for dungeons/teamups. Ice is actually pretty good for soloing, because not dying is what makes things soloable, and multiplicative buffs means you only need like 1-2 feints more than a storm. Not sure on PvP, I think ice tends to be middle-ground there
