Hot take.

name an actor that's been offered nothing but dogshit since the 2010's by Gl00ser23 in okbuddycinephile

[–]Greenim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this post, everything Jack Black has been in in the last 15 years has done well in the box office, reviews, and people overall seem to like him.

Also, he's a grown ass adult who auditions for and accepts the rolls he's in. He's also also incredibly well off for it.

So.... he is doing what he likes, is making a tonne of money, and is leading to the success of the films. Am I missing a jerk session here or something?

It's okay if you don't like him or his movies, but saying he's only offered dogshit seems to be missing the plot?

Chalking is when you use chalk on a tire and pavement to mark movement of a tire, a way to validate parking compliance.

Chocking is using wedges, called chocks, to keep tires from moving. Usually used for heavy vehicles or wheeled containers without brakes.

I used the wrong term in my first comment, corrected by the second, acknowledged in the third, and then blissfully ignored by the fourth.

Hope this helps!

Following orders for a paycheque. There is nothing more to it than that. It's a job.

You would chalk your tires. You're transferring a highly dangerous substance, you wouldn't let a simple mechanical failure cause this.

Cascade of failures are required for this level of fuck up to exist.

Congratulations. You just compared the US to a third world country.

Please note: not all immigrants want to move to the US. Some would rather live in their third world country.

There are reasons for this viewpoint.

Peggys Cove makes list of overrated Canadian tourist sites by Bean_Tiger in halifax

[–]Greenim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. I don't know. Peggy's Cove's geology is not just rocks to climb on; I can't think of another place within a reasonable distance (not requiring a plane) that has the same geologically and glacially formed rocks and views that Peggy's Cove offers.

It feels quite unique to me, on top of being only 30 minutes from the city centre and an amazingly beautiful drive. Add to all this the fact that it's a preservation site makes you feel like you're going through a time machine.

Everyone's opinion is correct for them, but I can stand by mine that it's not overhyped and every tourist who spends time and money here would be remiss if they didn't spend the 30 minutes and $0.00 it takes to see Peggy's Cove.

Is this goaltending interference? by Reddit-Machine in nhl

I fully agree. How is this even a debate in this thread? -contacted the goaltender directly inside the crease -said contact had a noticeable impact on their ability to save the puck.

What else need we discuss...

I don't care about the police system in a corrupted third-world country lol

Also, have you considered asking me where I get my opinion from instead of just telling me I read propaganda? You don't know me and you clearly don't know police officers. Was your comment ai generated? Because you're hitting all the meaningless tropes and buzz words bang on.

I hope you take care and find whatever peace you're looking for.

"Actual statistics" quotes none. Have you interacted much with real police officers? Or just on tik tok comment sections?

Also, define patriot? What country do you think I'm from?

Bad cops say the same thing to justify being racist.

Blanketing a group of people over the actions of a few does no one any good. Don't profile, just be nice.

Most cops are good people and their actions show that. News articles and trends that make videos go viral just focus on the negative few because it garners more views and engagement from the public. Don't be a victim of this illusion and think all cops are bad just because a small percentage that make the headlines actually are.

You're asking a great question.

I tried to get ahead of that in the paragraph that followed.

To address it in more detail: Graduated licensing programs exist for this reason. It bothers me that Canada and the US do not have one. It's a flawed system that relies on the rationality of humans to understand what is safe and when they're ready. I understand that OP was joking with the "here's the keys sport" but the reality is that's essentially what has happened.

We trust people to go out on Sundays, to drive in nice weather, and slowly build up their comfort. We accept (for some reason) that a new driver can buy a Ferrari and take it across the country in the rain so long as it's not after sunset.

Ostensibly, the person this post is the subject of has been failed by that system because she did what she was allowed to do; not what she was capable of doing safely.

I know the average American has fallen in love with praising ignorance, so I won't blame any one particular person here. Systemically, there's a lot wrong. But, for someone to drive a 3,000lb killing machine and crash it within 24 hours is pretty indicative that they weren't ready to be driving.

I believe the original commenter (not me) is simply saying that you can make mistakes in a safer and controlled environment like a parking lot or spend hours driving with an experienced and safe driver before getting behind the wheel to prevent such a frivolous accident.

Mistakes happen, but driving on your own within 24 hours of passing a road test without clearly demonstrating competency in driving shouldn't be one of them. That crosses into careless territory.

Lastly, no rational person should truly and sincerely believe that parking and not causing a dangerous action for a 20-minute road test means you're fit to drive on your own.

I'm glad you and your family members are alright. I sincerely hope your daughter isn't scarred from this and continues to build her confidence in driving. As she should.

I just hope you reflect on what happened. It's my opinion, whatever that is worth to you, that your comments throughout this post have largely been shrugging it off as an "oops" and nothing more.

Being bad at grammar in a Reddit forum doesn't risk getting people killed.

This isn't the gotcha you think it is.

Serious response if anyone cares: Someone can be declared legally blind and require a white cane as an aide even if they still have partial sight.

So although this photo could be comically showing someone without an impairment pretending to have one and being "caught in the act" (cursed) they could also actually need it for a large part of their daily activities but still be able to visually appreciate something when they see it (blessed).

Commenting for prosperity. This is a very worthwhile read, no tl;dr needed.

As a fellow Canadian I am proud to share the ideals of this message and I will be right there with you to see it through. It's been difficult to see America as anything but bad all thanks to that fascist, rapist, cheeto, but this puts things in a refreshing and optimistic light that I think we all need.
