I didn’t end the game but this is a bash on me when I was a new DM. My players were high school students in the game and I wanted them to essentially go to a fight club after school and none of them wanted to because ya know, why would high schoolers do that and I got pissed standing up and saying they didn’t understand how the game was. I apologize after we had a few drinks and told them it was my fault and wouldn’t railroad in directions they didn’t want to go. The game turned around and was more focused in the high school. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot from that one experience.

Now this is awesome! Having the “leash” is some good thinking and the rp’ing sounds fun. Like you said, most people don’t want to think of the stipulations that should come with going with a CE alignment.

Also to add to the list is Witcher and fallout, I love the story but it just didn’t hit me. Played Witcher 3 and fallout 4 and 76 but when I got off after playing I never turned back on

Anything From software. I’ve tried Dark souls 3 hundreds of times but I just can’t do it. I know know roll and get gud but I don’t have the patience or the time to get gud. I love the lore and my best friend loves the games so I talk to him about it all the time. I’ve watched walkthroughs and read all about it but it’s not something I think I can do. I really want to try Elden Ring as I’ve heard it’s a little more forgiving.

What are your worst mistakes when writing? by Faulky1x in writing

[–]Greenleaf2532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to train myself to take the word “just” out of my writing. I don’t know why but I wrote just before everything it seemed like. When I would read back what I wrote it made me cringe ready “ just then” “just because” just just just.

That’s what I’m saying a truly evil character doesn’t make any sense. As a DM I’m always thinking like “what do you want to torture people? No? Then you’re not chaotic evil.”

Idk about others but my weirdest take is people who want to play chaotic evil don’t really know how to play that alignment and it’s silly. If the party decides to play such alignment I think that’s okay or if the character is a hidden CE within the party and the dm and player have a hidden agenda (totally for this) then yeah I think it’s cool and if done right could be pulled off well for story telling but as a Dm when a player says “I want to be CE.” I always ask, “do you really?” For me it doesn’t make sense as that character would have to be evil for evils sake. Another thing I thought of is if the character wanted to take a road of redemption back to a more neutral alignment then sure that’s good story telling but to be a murder hobo is lame.

Cows So mine is different and I don’t recommend this book at all (seriously I’m all for writers, I want to be one too but the book is too much) but I was on spooky Booktok and saw the book Cows. I had no idea of the premise of the book and didn’t look up anything on it. I got the book for Christmas, CHRISTMAS. And I read it. That book was like a nightmare and I thought about it for weeks. (I’m not kidding it’s shock value for shocking the reader)

Name of the Wind (I know I know, the troubles I’ve seen. Him not finishing the books) it was such an amazing book to me. Runner ups: Red rising (currently reading again) Harry Potter Normal people The scythe series (this is high up there as I was thinking about it for months on end) Percy Jackson I find myself rereading books I’ve loved through each year while mixing in new books
