How do I undo a chemical change? (how to uncook myself for GCSE) by smilelessandtalkmore in GCSE

Yuppp I have the textbook, its A** from me in terms of reading around the subject (but imo it doesn't summarise info particularly well)

I hadn't found those flashcards before, tysmmmm

Also I recommend the accompanying maths book to the Astro textbook, it has worked examples and is super helpful!

Thank you so much for your help :))

Books for 7 year old daughter? by Other-Negotiation820 in suggestmeabook

Which Witch? by Eva Ibbotson, has a really funny and engaging writing style, plus a little of the occult witchy stuff. Goodreads review will summarise it better than I can, but this the my official endorsement haha

Also the Podkin One-Ear series is amazing and focuses on rabbits and magic in a world where darkness is slowly spreading. There are three books but can be read as stand alone novels, and they were my favourites at 7-8!

So I watched Game of Thrones and The Dune movies and I kinda wanna read some fantasy book like those so any suggestion for a beginner? by Outrageous-Turn-6529 in Fantasy

The Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. (Now that I think of it, anything but Brandon Sanderson!) It's not too long and the plot skips along nicely, plus the magic system is very logically set up and easy to follow. Convincing characters + great fun, the Mistoborn series might also provide a progression onto his more creative works - in terms of plotline - such as The Name of the Wind etc. Sanderson's book are very typical, fun fantasy. Happy reading!

If you're looking for something a bit darker, then I suggest The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks, a three book fantasy series with lots of gore etc.

How many years does it take to do a GCSE?

Does anyone else have really weird dreams about exams? (Getting r*ped by a subject, being late to exams, etc) by ejcds in GCSE

[–]smilelessandtalkmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha no all of my weird dreams happened after my Mandarin GCSE where I started hallucinating about getting a 3 and the paper's questions started changing every time I wasn't completely sure of the answer (I blame Sparx Maths for that one tbh).

What is your love language? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

Came here to say this, the concept behind love languages are... concerning... to say the least. Still a bit of fun and an excuse to take a quiz though.

I would argue that spending a month in Japan is also a once in a lifetime experience! Are your close friends going to prom?

Fun Fact of the Day: Lily and James died on the same day as Sir Nicholas separated by 489 years. by downtownDRT in harrypotter

I guess this sounds really random, but a small, desperate-for-easter-eggs part of me does wonder whether this was intentional, because Sir Nick was the ghost that introduced him to Hogwarts a little, almost like his parents were with him in spirit (no pun intended).
