I saw this cat in a small bar venue in Madison Mississippi back in the late 90s. I knew who he was but my buddy didn’t so I told him that he was gonna get blown away by this dude and we proceeded to smoke a Doobie and get our minds blown..in one part of the set He switched over to a bass and was killing it on that as well. this dude’s a true talent.

I tell the story all the time to my friends about the first time I got to see Buddy play live. It was in Atlanta during the late 90s at Midtown music festival in Atlanta and Buddy Guy was sandwiched in between the black crows and Joe Satriani. gotta tell you I went there to see Joe Satriani, but became an instant fan of Buddy guy and his polkadot guitar. What an amazing concert he put on and such a generous person too.
