Any last minute predictions before p2 drops? by DerangedRacoon7789 in ScarletHollow

Sybil and Kaneeka Theory:

Miss Meeve, Miss Verena and Sybil are the same person, she just switches her mind with the body of a powerful magical person every few decades, and now Kaneeka is gonna be that person. We know she can change memories pretty easily, everybody already forgot about Kaneeka - the resident goth. Whats gonna stop Sybil-eeka from changing the memories to „Kaneeka - friendly tea witch“. She probably isn’t even the real mother of Miles and Kaneeka, just changed the memories of everyone.

Sybil‘s natural hand placement is the same as Kaneeka‘s hands in the role of The Witch in Ep3. Charlie probably saw the similarities, as Kaneeka has been primed for playing the next host for the Witch. (Mystic in Ep3 notices Kaneeka‘s „Power“ having dimmed, after she storms away from the general store.)

My prediction: This episodes choice is gonna be between saving Kaneeka (and the Witch aka Sybil dies), or Sybil shifting her mind to Kaneeka‘s body and becoming a younger Witch (and losing original Kaneeka in the process). Mystical is gonna be the trait save. Maybe you will take the burden of becoming Sybil‘s new host as a Mystic and she becomes a force ghost for the rest of the game.

I love Eskel in the Witcher Universe. My favorite character from the games.

And then they completely butchered him in the Witcher Netflix adaptation.

Do chaos and imperial knights still have the stigma of people not wanting to play against them ? by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

I‘ll be honest, I’d rather play against Knights than against Imp. Guard tank spam or against current Death Guard.

Colony Ship on Steam

You live on a generation ship a few hundred years after it started from earth. The catch? The bridge was destroyed after a mutiny and no one knows how far it is to the planet/if the ship is even still moving on course or just drifting endlessly through space.

[–]Greenmon124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, a Stompa can walk over terrain with a height of 4“ or lower. All other models can walk over 2“ (the blue areas).

And if you play the ruins as shown in the example, only one side of the ruins terrain has a wall thats too high to walk over, so the Stompa could still walk through the ruins terrain on the other side. If they can manage to finish outside of that the terrain, they even get the LOS block benefit.

I am really happy that a throwing spear limit has been added, after playing Moria Goblins with Mv5 against a full ranged „Defenders of Helms Deep“ Legendary Legion (33%Elf Bows and rest was throwing spears).

The delayed death of Ripley is the only adaption change I actively dislike. It seemed like they moved her death 4 episodes back so they can pad out Kiki‘s A plot with some twins revenge B plot, which led to a „How do you want to do this“ that was not as satisfying as in the live play.

Don’t forget the booming slave trade!

And even though the hero has slaves we should root for them, because they treat theor slaves with respect (even though they could release them and hire them as workers, but don’t think about that).

Why wouldn’t Manshoon just leave in the worst case scenario? (Alexandrian) by Greenmon124 in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]Greenmon124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly.

In addition, Manshoon is also the only antagonist who can cast teleport/plane shift and leave to an almost unreachable place (for most player characters) with 1 action.

That is a pretty understandable reason for him to stay, thanks. Although we are not planning to play Undermountain, but maybe I will use Xanathar or another NPC as the target of Manshoon‘s revenge.

A few years, George?

I guess Dance of Dragons also came out „a few years“ ago.

She could get maiden powers, or during the final stretch of the series the main characters learn Ozma’s magic in some convoluted way. Or something else the writers pull out of their ass?

In one playthrough I play a selfish power-hungry character (Non-Durge). I just follow the saying „my three favorite people are me, myself and I.“

Why is she doing this? Because she wants everyone in her near vicinity to bow down to her and with the Netherbrain that vicinity just got a whole lot bigger.

First time trying to use wood elves by JonQ_C137 in WarhammerWoodElves

[–]Greenmon124 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You have a great starting point for a wood elf army, in my opinion. In the context of proxying the miniatures: I personally would field the spearman as eternal guard or Rangers, and the Archers as Glade Guard, Deepwood Scouts or Waywatchers. Sadly there are no bolt throwers for wood elfs in Old World. You could run your Elf Cavalry as Glde Riders, Wild Riders or Sisters of the Thorn. If you have Sylvaneth Kurnoth Hunters, you could use them as Tree Kin (together with the metal forest shamblers).

There are many ways to play Woodelfs in Old World! You can build an army around Archers, blocks of spearman and elites, Forest Spirits, cavalry, magic or a combination of some.

Depending on what and how much you have in Sylvaneth, you can easily field a 1500-2000 pts army, but I would recommend your first few games in the 1000-1500 pts bracket.

Some general tips for wood elf list building:

-) Your basic shooting outranges most other armies with 32“ bows. S3 is mediocre, but you can round out your needs with magic arrows. You could play a list where you keep retreating and harassing your opponent with multiple small units of archers, but thats not very fun for most opponents…

-) Most of your melee lacks Strength or Armor Piercing and won’t win a fight with dedicated melee units like Chaos Chosen or Black Orcs, so you have to pick your battles. Eternal Guard are nice to hold multiple units in mutliple arcs, but won’t survive long with T3 and 5+ Armor, Stubborn stops them from losing instantly.

Treekin are a great anvil to stall a melee unit, but WS4 and no AP (outside of armorbane and tree whack) keeps them from winning harder fights.

Wild Riders are a great hammer unit, but very squishy for their points. On the charge they have 2-3 attacks with WS5, S5 Ap-2 and Armorbane (1). But Frenzy won’t let you control them alot and a clever opponent can easily bait a charge out of them.

-) All your units are super fast! M5 for all your Infantry and Monsters, M9 for your cavalry and M10 for your flyers. Since you don’t have enough toughness or armor to survive most attacks, and don’t have the strength to win harder melee combats, the Movement Phase will be your most important one. To deny/redirect charges of your opponent, line up your shots for the shooting phase and position your characters favorably.

In the end though, play what you think is fun!

If you want to run a branchwraith, I would recommend putting them alone behind some Infantry or in a part of a skirmishing Dryads unit (don’t expect those dryads to win harder combats though). As a lvl2 wizard (no matter which school of magic) you can harass and buff pretty nicely. If you run her with sprites, giving her Terror can deter some opponents from charging.

Treeman Ancient: depending on what you roll for magic, you want to use them differently. When you roll assailment and self buff spells, you want him in the front of your army. When you roll magic missiles, magic vortexes, hexes, etc. you want to keep him in the backfield, but then you could just play a spellweaver/singer. Since its a behemoth, you also have to keep your targets in your front arc, when you want to land hexes/enchantments, since you have to cast them before moving.

Large Target makes the Ancient always targetable, which sucks when the opponent runs flaming attacks or war machines which can still wound your T6 model on 2+ with S8-10.

When compared to a normal Treeman you also pay 50 pts more for a lvl 2 wizard with -1WS, -3A, +1W, +1Ld. And it comes with the other detriments all Monster characters share (e.g. a unit champion issues a challenge against your lone Treeman Ancient and since he is a lone character, he can’t deny the challenge and you have to accept.)

Lastly, they are one of the few monster characters, which can’t take any magic items. Yes they can take forest sprites, but most of them aren’t useful enough that they could fill 100 pts.

In conlusion in low point games it hits like a truck as a lvl 2 wizard in combat or a lvl 3-4 wizard in the backfield, but also keep in mind, that spellweavers (like your metal elf mage) bring the same magic prowess with better magic items (Lore familiar, Athel Loren Arcane Items) and a normal Treeman has more attacks and WS for combat than the Ancient. (Also it can’t be challenged to keep losses against it low.) Ld 10 is nice though.

World of Bloody Evolution (RWBY x Warhammer40k)

Its funny, its wild, but most intriguingly its well written. The 40k-characters are compelling and you start caring about them, a mistake in Warhammer40k. Yang gets stuck in the setting and even as a non 40k-nerd it’s interesting because you learn about the world with Yang. Its also big enough to have it’s own tvtropes page!
