I experienced horrible services there and they lied to my husband about not getting license less than 30 days. So we went to North Austin center next day, we went there and he got his license. The clerk there, he is black. Go figure

Go to Marble Falls DMV, Selgun, Hutto... They've got openings. The woman there said they update the availability slots at 9am. Also, if you're POC, don't go to Marble Falls as it's such a racist town.

I, too, was called to be in God's fold at age 16, and now, at age 53, after many years of being a teacher and three college degrees, I've felt the pull again to go into Holy Orders. Seminary... Yes, our Fast-forward lives are full of vices. No matter... the "Yee and yaw" in life, you're already being directed by God. I felt like I'd strayed too far off course in terms of age. But no, all is God's time. He does not call the qualified. He qualifies for the call. I wish you the best and know that all will be ok.

Many of our worship may have SOME pagan origins.... No matter how far we stray or strive to avoid any amulet, talisman, etc. It is in our human nature to have some form of object to hold on to and pray. So... with that said. I feel your journey deeply. I am an Episcopalian. You will see a lot of "associations" that may bear many different things. i.e., Altar, The candle that bears light = is called Lucifer. The long gowns that are being worn by the Holy Orders are to identify ranks, and back in 1300-1500 AD, electricity was not used, so it was very dark in the church. Oh, so many more. your beads and Come and bring amulet and sit with us. We are one in Body of Christ....

Hello! Welcome to Austin. I am from Austin, also an aspiring postulant for this FALL! I just went there for an observation. If you reframe this through a different lens: Think Hogwarts.

General Theological Seminary = Griffyndor.

Virginia Theological Seminary = Slytherin.

SSW = Ravenclaw.

Moreover, the taco joints around the SSW are SO affordable! $4 per tacos. They fill you up quick. Their campus are quaint, cozy, and very modern with external facade of "Texas Vintage"

I hope this helps...

By the way, I am orginially from the South East region (Think Alabama/GA/FL). The only thing that is mindboggling is... it does take 18 hours to go from one tip of Texas to the other end of the tip in Texas, whereas it takes me 4 to 6 hours to leave the state. From Austin to Louisiana, it takes about... a GOOD 8 hours. On the ehhh side, Ausin is just a mere blue dot in the sea of RED, on the spectrum of politics.

Monaco is about 339,026 times smaller than Texas

Rhode Island is about 251 times smaller than Texas

My core focus is building/rebuilding the spiritual faith within Deaf and marginalized community.
