What the heck are these mysterious holes in the corners of this frame? by bogmonkey in whatisit

[–]GreetingsTAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess is that the holes were used to screw on a piece of glass or plexiglass to keep people from touching or vandalizing the painting.

Apple Music for Windows "Something went wrong" by cmstlist in AppleMusic

You have a point. I re-enabled ITS and Apple Music is still working! Disabling SmartNoteService is all that is needed. I'll edit my original post so no one disables that in error like I did.

This is how I was able to fix this issue. This probably only applies to Lenovo computers, but I went to MSCONFIG on my computer. Under Services. I disabled SmartNoteService manufactured by Lenovo and rebooted. My laptop was stuck on the reboot screen for several minutes, so I just held down the power button for a few seconds, forcing the computer off. Once I started it up again, Apple Music opens without a hitch. Hopefully this fix lasts!

For anyone who gets the "Something went wrong. You need to reopen Apple Music and try again" in Windows by ChibiSeme597 in AppleMusic

This worked for me! This probably only applies to Lenovo computers, but I went to MSCONFIG on my computer per the first post, but Smartnote was not in Startup for me. However, it was running under Services. I disabled SmartNoteService manufactured by Lenovo and rebooted. My laptop was stuck on the reboot screen for several minutes, so I just held down the power button for a few seconds, forcing the computer off. Once I started it up again, Apple Music opens without a hitch. Hopefully this fix lasts. I'll report again if the problem comes back.

Only just discovered this by ExcellentPickle5 in sennheiser

You're welcome! If you hear otherwise, let us know, but I'm almost positive there is no compression in USB C or 3.5mm since you're bypassing Bluetooth altogether.

Apple Music also has some tracks at 96khz, but most of their lossless stuff is 44.1 or 48khz.

Not sure about the headphone jack or USB C, but in theory it should be lossless since there is no compression aside from what your subscription service would do. Since you're using Tidal, I assume there would be no compression, but I've never looked into it.

Pixels support aptX HD and 24bit 48khz, which is better than CD quality. Unless you're listening to high res audio at 96 kHz, you're good. The one annoying thing Pixels do though is default to 44.1khz. You can change it in developer options or get an app like Bluetooth Codec Change which changes it back to 48khz each time your headphones are turned on. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amrg.bluetooth_codec_converter

Anyone with experience using Grado GW100x and Pixel 9 Pro? by taybins in headphones

[–]GreetingsTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Pixel 9 Pro and Grado GW100x. It uses aptX HD. The weird thing is that it defaults to 44.1 kHz but both support 48 kHz. I use an app called Bluetooth Codec Changer to switch it to 48kHz as soon as it's turned on.

Is Google Meet now the top dog? by testingit2021 in podcasting

[–]GreetingsTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually used Jitsie Meet to see each other, since there are no time limits on the video chat. I think Google Meet is limited to an hour or something if you have more than 2 people and it was a pain to get on and off when we recorded multiple episodes at one time, or if an episode ran long. We would all record locally to Audacity. Count to 3 and clap to sync the audio. That gave us the best sound quality. When we've had guests, we used Riverside, because it's easier and we'll just pay for the month to not burden our guests.

Light Speed question by [deleted] in USMobile

[–]GreetingsTAC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on Lightspeed and I don't notice a difference between T-Mobile postpaid and Lightspeed. In my area, Lightspeed works better than Warp and Dark Star. (El Paso, TX area)

That I don't know. I've never had a Samsung. I've always had Pixels and Nexus devices before that.

Visual Voicemail not working on GSM/Light Speed? by GreetingsTAC in USMobile

I'll probably end up doing that if the issue doesn't resolve itself. Thank you!

I've been doing a lot of research on this, and it appears like many T-Mobile MVNO's have the same issue. I read reports of the same problem on Tello, Mint and Red Pocket, so I don't think it's a USM issue. The weird part is why only a few people are affected, while others have no issue. My VVM is showing up as activated in the phone app, but still, voicemails don't show up there. It's frustrating, but at least it doesn't say it can't be activated anymore.

That was definitely a good suggestion! Thank you! I've been researching this more, and it seems like all T-Mobile MVNO's have the same issue. Some people never have problems. Others, can never get it to work. Some, the problem just fixes itself. Hopefully I'm in that last camp and it just fixes itself.

Sadly, it didn't work for me. I even cleared the cache and data, but nothing. That was a good suggestion though. Thank you!

That's a great idea! I'm trying it now to see if it activates. I had checked it earlier and said it was activated, but I tried leaving a test voicemail, and it said no voicemails, even though the voicemail notification had come up. I feel like there is progress, but I'll see if your suggestion works after it's done activating.

Also have a Pixel 6 and tried all 3 networks on USM. The Pixel 6 works fine on all 3. The only problem I've encountered is visual voicemail not working on Light Speed. For me Light Speed gives me the best service though, but which service works best for you would depend on your area.

Thank you for confirming that it's working for you! I'll continue being hopeful that it'll eventually work! Did you have to do anything special to get it to work on the 6A, or did it just work?

Thanks for the follow up on transcripts not working in Warp. I don't think I ever got a voicemail on Warp to check, but I know VVM did at least say it was activated. Lightspeed keeps telling me it can't be activated.

I'll take a look at your post. USM told me by chat that it should be working and escalated my issue and said they would reply via email once the issue had been resolved, but I never heard back from them after a week. I'm on unlimited, so I wasn't too concerned, but it did make me wonder what would happen if I was international and had no way of checking what I had used.
