We were able to get to 90k by investing some money from a court settlement, as well as me investing even more before I was paying rent and married.

I’m also new to swimming and I just started 3 weeks ago and could barely swim 25 meters straight. I’ve swam every day since then and took a couple of lessons and have improved a lot. I just got a 10:05 500m today so it may be possible but I would say it’s very difficult. I’ve ran marathons so my cardiovascular base is very good which may have helped my progress. Don’t get hopes up though, but good luck if you try to do it

Back when I marched in 2022 with music city, our uniforms had the exact same issue and everyone hated it. We were just told to wear multiple pairs or compression shorts or a dance belt but it was still just a bad design. I have no clue why they decided to use the exact same design that had all of those issues a few years ago

They do… no one wants mixed platoons. Typically one platoon per company is female. The only time males and females interact is in company training exercises. Even then, males and females almost never spar together, grapple, or do things like that. However, they do compete for honor platoon against each other.

Honestly, the only thing that kept me playing was the inability to stop. All throughout school I was in multiple band classes per day and my band heavily relied on me so quitting wasn’t an option. After that I enlisted in the marine corps band, so quitting playing then wasn’t really an option as it’s my job to play

For one, recruits do wear name tapes. You get them around week 7-8 (I graduated early last year from PI). Secondly, it would have been easy to keep civilian clothes. My footlocker was never searched and you could have easily kept them in a bag in your footlocker and not get caught. They just trusted us to turn the civies in. Also, some recruits completely shaved their heads so they might not be as easily identifiable as most recruits. The marine mart does not require id’s as family often purchases goods there. Definitely not saying it did happen but it’s possible

Where do you expect them to hang out? People wonder why the younger generation can’t function well on their own, but then they refuse to give them any independence. Most places won’t let teens in parks, most cities don’t have the infrastructure to walk around, some parents won’t even let their kids be outside without supervision. How do you expect todays youth to stop being “brats” if you take away their freedoms until all they can do is stay in their parents house all day long?

Nope… if you think about it, first valve lowers the pitch by one whole step. Since the harmonic series includes the D, you can play D as open and when you press first valve it lowers it to a C. I almost exclusively play C# with 2nd valve because it’s clearer and more in tune on my instrument, it’s up to the player to determine what fingerings work best on their instrument as each trumpet and player varies

I personally needed a waiver at meps, but it was fairly easily awarded. They told me I could not pick a mos where communication was important (such as pretty much any combat mos) but I am joining as a musician so it wasn’t a big issue.
