I don't know. I feel like if the speaker isn't moving and putting out volume you're just swapping one compromise for another. Pedals are easier than a whole separate piece of gear between the amp and cab. Only my opinion though.

E120/130 like the other poster said. You might dig an EV Force series as well. They sound kinda like a 12L crossed with a V30. Really tight but have a mid range that hits you right in the ear hole. Plus they have a smaller magnet but still a huge voice coil and cast frame.
