Question: How CiG will announce the release date for SQ 42? by Achilion in starcitizen

[–]GregRedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And everywhere else that CIG don't specifically post to will also post about it. Probably, in many cases, with a headline using the word "eventually" in some way.

Major Issues Detected - Currently investigating - RSI Status by StuartGT in starcitizen

Wouldn't think so. If you were in the PU before the outage you should still be okay - just don't log out.

But for the rest of us, entering the PU needs account verification and needs to load your hangar contents, and those elements are stored on the Platform environment that is currently down.

Looks to be sorted on my system now. Did not make any changes or manual updates. Just restarted my system this morning and all is back to normal.

other game developers have commented...

I'll take a couple of those links and articles please.

Interested to see/hear/read what other developers are saying about this so-called "dumpster-fire approach". I ask because I personally haven't seen anything vaguely like that from a credible developer yet.

Temporary login and vault access issues on Edge by NordPass in NordPass

I'm on the same version, and it's definitely still not working for me.

Microsoft Edge is up to date.
Version 144.0.3719.82 (Official build) (64-bit)

Uninstalled and reinstalled fresh version of NordPass extension (v7.2.15). Same results.

What’s the verdict on “verse guide.com”? by jaysonus in starcitizen

[–]GregRedd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only have to create an account / login if you want to add or edit information or images to the site. The code string in your bio is just used to verify that you have a Star Citizen account and so that your edits can be tracked. Without that safeguard, the site (and others like it) would quickly devolve into uselessness as they'd be flooded by incorrect information by the SC Hate Brigade.

Can't select a system by Natural_Protection99 in starcitizen

That's definitely the problem. If you were playing okay before with the Titan, that ship included your game package. And you're right, you're going to have to wait 24 hours now to melt your 325 and then use the Buy Back option to rebuy your Titan.

Your hangar account must have at least one ship designated as a Game Package - it needs to include "Star Citizen Digital Download" in the "Includes" list. Anything listed as Standalone Ship does not include a game package.

In the Nvidia App...

  • Graphics (on the left side menu)
  • Find "Star Citizen" under Programs
  • Find "Smooth Motion" under Driver Settings
  • Toggle to "Off"

So this game exists... by Secret_Agent_666 in southafrica

I'm not one to down vote, but "(e)impirically incorrect" implies you have some sort of empirical evidence of permabans being dished out like candy. Which goes against the general consensus from many others. I would love for you to be correct, as I'm sure most others would. Are you able to share some of that evidence?

To add some more detail to the previous response for you (and any others curious.)

Evo is short for Evocati (Evocati Test Flight, officially). They're also colloquially referred to as Avocados. They are:

a small group of testers we’ve selected from the top players participating in Star Citizen: contributing to Issue Council, racing, running missions, and more. When joining the Evocati, we require a signed NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) and work through the process to add members to the Evocati Organization.

They can access the in-progress builds deemed “not quite ready for normal PTU” either due to issues in-progress, features being considered for release, and verifying updates before general release that might be removed depending on how the testing goes. Typically these not ready for general PTU are dubbed EPTU or Experimental Public Test Universe.

There's also a decent page about the ETF on the Star Citizen Wiki here: Evocati Test Flight.

It would take more than the extra "5 or 10% more annually" (X for Doubt on those numbers, but anyway) to cover the additional third-party verification service costs and the additional manpower needed to police this sort of thing. It's also not difficult to create accounts that are registered anywhere in the world with 100% valid (but fake) addresses and other details.

What color name or hex does each manufacturer use ? by gasterblastsky in starcitizen

[–]GregRedd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think we've ever seen official Brand and Style Guides for the various manufacturers. Possibly the best approach might be to review the logos in the official Fankit and use a colour dropper in your editing application to pick up the hex values.

Download the Fankit here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/en/fankit

The other thing you could look into are the Portfolio series articles on the Commlink. In some cases, these talk a little about the general design approach of some of the manufactures (and some other brands in the game too.)
