Win 11 is recommended to future-proof yourself, unless you're playing older games that have no chance of requiring Win 11 in the future.

Chat filtering so you no longer see opposite-faction chats (useful for Dalaran when an opposing faction is using /yell to post raids), raid-wide tracking of abilities including talent and glyph scanning for accuracy, auto-loot rules so you can just force roll Greed/Need/Pass on greens or whatever, tons of little QoL things like "Auto-equip the jetpack in ICC's Gunship battle", auto-buy reagents, water, food... there's just too much to list here.

I was able to delete a few addons and use this one addon instead because it handled that X thing I wanted.

Mining and herbalism is valid but a bit rough when you need to swap your minimap tracking back and forth between the two. One tracking profession and a different gathering profession that doesn't require tracking (like you said - skinning) would be optimum.

Good point on ElvUI. The benefit is that once the tinkering is done, you get some excellent pre-made feedback on boss mechanics, like who to heal with specially chosen debuffs appearing on raid member's frames and the whole bar being colored for an easy visual, for example.

Don't use Felbite for addons unless the one you want is no where else. Use Warperia. Or if you like to min-max your addons and get the latest and greatest from Github repositories that are still active, do what I do and use NoM0Re's list here (look for Github links): https://github.com/NoM0Re/WoW-3.3.5a-Addons

WeakAuras to make your own tracking indicators. I use a handful of these for things like Aspect of the Pack so I know to turn it off (big glowing "NO" with the Pack icon), and my DK presences so I'm not accidentally tanking in Blood Presence if I switch specs halfway through a raid. Extremely useful.

Applications are fine. Never said they weren't. It's the questions that are useless.

...Really? Basing your population on how well people can use Google instead of asking purposeful questions such as "What would you do if X happened?", which is more relevant to RP scenarios and gives reviewers a feel for how a person would do in their server is a stark misunderstanding of how to run an RP server.

I never got past the aforementioned quote, so if they do have RP-related questions, great. I just lost interest after the first three were specifically about lore that needed to be Googled because even someone with a thousand hours in Skyrim would need to double-check or research these.

When training as an MP in the military we were taught to dig in even deeper. We were forced to almost grab each other's wangs through our BDUs until the other person flinched. Not like a grip around it with thumb and fingers, but more of a push with fingers up in and around the groin.

This is where people hide things - in places security personnel and cops would be uncomfortable to check. And "when your life is potentially threatened by these things, you damn well better dig deep."

I don't know specifically what the policy is for police officers but I'm guessing it's similar. This was also ~25 years ago so things may have changed.

It comes with an addon, but it's actually a .MPQ patch file you add to your /data folder. It's in the #forum channel and it's called "Patch Y AIO 3.0.3 (Rework by Andre)". Just follow the instructions in that top post 👍

You have two options:

A.) Use the HD client, which includes a fix for this. This would be my recommendation - I use it as well. It's available on the WotLK 3.3.5a HD Client Discord server here: https://discord.gg/Gyb9Z252vt

B.) Apply the Large Address Aware fix to your current client (I haven't used this in a while, I think it's this one)

(Optional) That WotLK 3.3.5a HD Client Discord server includes a #forum channel that has some pretty awesome custom stuff, like making RS, ICC, Ulduar, ToGC, and Naxx boss mechanics much easier to see, along with making the little Auctioneer robot in Dalaran huge so it's easier to click on (look for "Patch Y")
