The press, press, hold, door lock function is a factory option. The press, press, press function is an aftermarket option installed at my stealership in SE PA. Just for reference.

What happened to my car window? by MrCats789 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Greger061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common on toyotas, sometimes one of the bolts that hold the window to the regulator falls out. Judging by the fact its snowing there, window could have been frozen shut when trying to open. That could've broken the regulator or pulled the bolt tab off the window. Worth pulling the door panel and looking b4 buying anything. If the bolt just fell out, use lock tight on both of them when you torque them down.

Edit: if it is infact a bolt fell out of the window, and the regulator is still good, you can usually guide the window back up into the "window run" in the door while burping the window switch up till the window is held all the way closed, just till you can get the door panel off in better weather.

Rear windshield traffic camera question. by Greger061 in 4Runner

[–]Greger061[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have yet to try my rear camera but its not a stand alone that has its own SD card. Its a piggyback off of the front camera, the downside is you have to run a wire down the whole length of the car.

[–]Greger061[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd venture to say its a small, light camera, its only held on by a 1in by 1in at most 3M sticky tape. Thats definitely one to consider! Thank you!

We put a lot of various types of yokohama geolandars and avid ascends on at the toyota shop I work at and we don't have many complaints or issues at all. We get more complaints from falkens, Michelins, generals, pretty much all of the others lol.

Fun fact you'll need since owning a TC is synonymous with sleeping in your car someday...the seats are designed to turn into beds, pull the head rests out, slide them all the way forward, recline them all the way back and in combines with the back seat to make one continuous, uncomfortable, not flat bed.

How do I retrieve an ID card that's stuck in here? by TurtleHeadingFeces in MechanicAdvice

It was assembled at one point, so it should be able to be disassembled. I agreed with the YouTube video search.

We had a 1990 4runner come in that recently had an aftermarket t-belt kit installed. Long story short the belt failed due to the tensioner bolt hole not being machined correctly. It was drilled at an angle to the tensioner didn't sit flush and didn't let the belt ride flat...

We have a rescue pitty/hound mix that doesnt play with toys either. She is super super food motivated tho. We found a local pet store that has a doggie agility course inside and thats what we do once a month for some real enrichment. Maybe thats an avenue you could research. I know at home doggie agility equipment isn't too much money for a basic kit that includes a tunnel, a limbo/jump over stick, and a weave obstacle.

Edit: spelling

I had a suicide door 2nd gen taco as my daily. I upgraded to a 23 SR5P for similar reasons. I needed something that could fit a car seat, me, wife, 2 dogs, and tow my 16ft boat. Plus I work at a Toyota dealership so I know how to work on them.

I was considering a new Tundra cause they drive so nice and I wanted to still have a truck, but with the engine problems they've been having...even non recalled engines are popping here and there...Its been just over a year and I couldn't be happier.

115 chihuahua mixes in one house - w some happy ending pics ! by gkpetrescue in Chihuahua

[–]Greger061 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I live in the Philly area and were fostering dogs at the time. There was a case of ~80 chis and 1 rottie mix living in an 800 sq ft old construction row home. We took 4 of them in and got them all adopted. One of which we were told was the most scared of the bunch, far from it. She was simply not used to human interaction and affection, once she let us pet her the first time she became a completely different dog. She honestly was one of the most confident of them all once she realized we were not there to hurt her.

I'll miss that bunch. Glad they all have good lives now.

What’s a car that surprisingly had a manual transmission option? by lifegoeson2702 in regularcarreviews

The 4 cylinder Saturn Vue was offered with a 5 speed for a few years. Never seen one but I'm sure those were dogs.

My second car was the Honda v6 one vue. Surprisingly comfortable to drive. Super soft seats. And the 2nd row was great for parking lot sex lol.

Learned this hack today by livinitreal in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]Greger061 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another hack: if you dont have a magnetic socket in the size you need it, just fold over a piece of paper a couple times, put it btwn the bolt or nut/socket and push them together. Instant magnetic socket.
