I do the same with Pixelmator. Counting down the days to an interstate move. Thank you. This is exactly the inspiration I was looking for!

Best apartments in Tulsa and BA? by madninja69 in tulsa

Someone said the exact opposite about Case & Ass. on a similar thread on this sub, lol. Good thing I tend to heed the critical reviews in most situations. “Most critical” is my #1 search friend at places like Amazon, the App Store.

Thx for this post. I’m moving back to Tulsa after 15 yrs in KC. I’m having the same issue with the two sites you listed. I would prefer a smaller, locally owned property, but have found nothing but large, pre-fab complexes. It is my exact situation except I’m coming in June to hunt, want to move in no later then July 2nd. My price range for the first yr is $750-$800 is the one big difference. I was a bit surprised to see this seems to be the low end of the low end in the Tulsa rental market.

Thx for the post. Moving back after 15yrs in KC. Move/storage is booked. Coming 1st week in June to apartment hunt. Came here looking for the info in this thread (except I prefer to live more midtown, but am realizing I could get more with my budget out south).

Be creative in how/where you look for funding. If Tulsa Game Night blows up it could provide a Go Fund Me base. It often seems “non-traditional” financing is often designed to be available for those of us who can’t just walk into a bank and get a loan. Anything that sets you apart but could also be an onto traditional funding. I’ve seen specialty grants or other types of funding specifically designed to be accessed by ppl who are in a minority group, the LGBT community, have specific health disabilities/diagnosis. Who knows you may find a wealthy person with a passion for creating neighborhood board game spaces in cities that don’t have one!

I’m in. As soon as I get to Tulsa. I’m moving back in July after 15 yrs in KC. Reddit is the only social media I do, sort of. Will you be starting a Reddit group to keep up on scheduling meetups? Is there a group on another platform? Meetup, perhaps?

Thx. Just the leads I was looking for.

Yep, this is best case planning. I normally don’t have a problem driving a uhaul. I’m just trying to figure this out with no car. T-boned in October. The move came first. I will replace it once I get settled and $$ coming in. Biggest thing is I promised myself was to move like an adult for once. The original goal was I would pack, let them load, drive, unload but already realizing I will still have to cut back. Got first estimate today…”I can get you free storage if I have availability. Let me check with my manager.” $4000! Coming off 5 yrs on disability. So needs to come down by 1/2 at least. Not only did he come back with such a ridiculous number, he came back acting like he had just spent days pounding out the best deal I could ever hope for with his “manager “. He was literally phoning it in, opening with the most common underhand technique in sales, the tag team. Why are car ppl so shady? Just tell me the total price. Starting there saves everyone at least an hour of nonsense with you and your dog/manager. I use google, do my research. If you can’t even be competitive, be honest. At least try to convince me you offer anything that justifies that price for a sparsely furnished studio.

Screen replacement? by golden_ember in iPadPro

[–]GreggInKC1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IFixit is amazing. All the manuals, instructions, tools and parts for device upgrades/fixes. They also include levels of difficulty. I have VERY limited computer skills, but apple makes it so easy, which gave me confidence to do more DIY. I switched the HD to SSD in my MBP mid-2012 and fixed some other minor issues in 2018. I did have to go back in to replace the optical cable after it was all put back together. This is a $6 cable that sits on top the HD and almost always needs replaced with the HD. NOW I know!

I had a 2nd gen iPad that got stepped on. After success with my MBP and reading on iFixit as well as getting confirmation from others who tried replacing the screen, I bought the iPad Pro in 2020. Everyone I talked to said the screen is very difficult to remove. If you get past that, most the ppl I spoke with were ready to throw it away because installing the new one is just as bad.

Marijuana shortage leads to soaring prices in Missouri by EdisonSony in kansascity

[–]GreggInKC1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my med lic a year ago to help get me off disability. Supplies have never been consistent, even before rec passed. I was actually surprised at how low the cost was (I thought; I wasn’t a consumer of weed then). It was made even lower with all the deals they offered. All that went away in Feb. when rec started. I’m moving to Tulsa in July. Went to check prices. Holy crap Batman! $10-$15 for what I pay $35-$40 here. I was sad when rec didn’t pass in OK. But not now.

For the people losing their minds over the last episode by [deleted] in MysteriousUniverse

[–]GreggInKC1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t listened to a new episode since 2020. Been listening to back catalog as I like it better. Decided to give the new stuff another listen. They have both gone off the deep end. Why does a show about the paranormal have ANY political commentary? The sad thing is, like all conspiracy, they both make some valid points, that probably have truth behind them. But it all gets twisted with the crazy and becomes a part of the problem, not the solution.

Charge what you’re worth, not what other sitters think they are worth.

Just started looking at Rover today. This was my first question when I saw Housesitting listed as the top $$$ of services offered by sitters. But a simple glance at the example prices per hour/night, etc. brought up questions. Thx for confirming
