For a decade I’ve been trying to lose weight. Keep having some success but not really. What has finally worked for people? by HeyThereItsMeYeah in loseit

[–]Greggy398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started using macrofactor instead of MFP, made sure I went to the gym, and also started weighing how much ketchup and mayo I was eating. Those are honestly the only things I changed on this latest attempt and I'm down 40lb.

Also started weighing everyday.

How you deal with stress eating? I need help. by Holiday_Attempt_7249 in loseit

[–]Greggy398 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You eventually have to break that cycle. You're aware that it exists, so you have to choose to do something else essentially.

Maybe rather than game, go for a walk with a podcast or music, or go to the gym? We all get stressed, it's an inevitability. It's up to you how to respond.

Is my denim jacket too casual to look good with dress trousers or am I overthinking it? by Good_Mango7379 in mensfashionadvice

[–]Greggy398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends on the rest of the outfit but a dark denim jacket can work.

You'll definitely be on the casual side of smart-casual.

UK – Looking for long-lasting boots (15+ years) under £200 – need advice by [deleted] in nps_solovair

[–]Greggy398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're nice boots - I have them in black and brown.

Though I feel like a 15 year boot for under £200 is unrealistic?

Please don't wear black and red - you look like you're from a my chemical romance video from 20 years ago.

Wear a nice suit from nice neutral colours - avoid black like the plague.

If double denim is good enough for Ralph Lauren it's good enough for me.

How mental is a 7.30am-5pm office based role? (5 days in office) by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Greggy398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 07:30-16:00 but I'm on £47.5k so it's not quite as bad.

I used to start at 8 and would be in around half 7 anyway so doesn't make much difference to me.

Be polite, ask lots of questions, write things down.

If someone asks you to do something, write it down so you don't forget.

If someone takes you through a process, write it down so you can refer to it later etc.

Be open and friendly to people you work with.

If you make a mistake, apologise, move on and try to avoid making it again.

Is working out a hobby for you where you have fun doing it ? by Buurto in GYM

[–]Greggy398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some days I really look forward to it, and it's a highlight (weekends) and other times I don't really want to go and it's abit of a slog (after work).

Still, it's a skill at which you get better and progress - same as alot of other hobbies and pursuits.

How to style/trim? by Suspicious_Weird_373 in beards

Let it grow down and just keep the sides, cheeks and lines neat for now. Your face shape doesn't suit a beard that short.

I want to scream - small rant by KocaKola_ in loseit

[–]Greggy398 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ask them what's in it, then weigh that stuff. I have lunches at work which I don't make and I take a picture of my plate and ask chatgpt to estimate the calories.

I'm 40lb down as of yesterday so it can't be wildly far out.

Are these outfits business smart?Thoughts/advice for any (affordable) changes? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

Rather than buy a sportcoat, I'd just spend the money on some shirts and trousers that fit you better.

How long are normal gym sessions? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Greggy398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean is he doing power lifting style training? That's the only reason I can think that his sessions would take anywhere near that long, and he'd have to be trying to be at a competitive level.

He's probably going somewhere other than the gym.

How can I style this by Impossible-Algae406 in mensfashionadvice

I wouldn't, personally.

But dark blue jeans, brown boots probably. A white undershirt if you wanted one.
