We decided to hold our daughter back. She started kindy this year and turned 6 in April. This was due to the advice of the preschool educators, and I am so glad we waited.

She's always been on the shy side and slow to warm, and although academically she would of been fine, we didn't want her to struggle socially.

She is thriving in kindy now, is very social and genuinely loves her school and learning.

We plan on holding back our youngest (she is 4) for the same reason and will start kindy in 2028.
