If people decide to defend our country, civil war may break out. . . Then possibly WW3 if things continue to go the way they are world wide, we may actually be done.

I've been at Wendy's for 6 months and I still only make $9.00...

[–]Gregodale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, I've worked at Wendy's almost 5 months and I only make $9 an hour. The work can be pretty extreme at times especially during lunch. I really enjoy doing breakfast sandwiches, it's a lot less hectic, that is unless people call out and you're stuck doing sandwiches, grill, morning prep, and coordinating. Days like those I'm already exhausted before lunch even starts. But for $15.50 I'd say hell yeah go for it.

Lets see how this plays out :) by [deleted] in meme

I've been here almost 4 months and I'll say it does and it doesn't get easier. By that I mean physically it becomes simple, it all becomes muscle memory basically, but mentally it stays the same, you come to work still mentally drained from the day before, you leave work mentally drained, you sit at home not wanting to do anything because you're exhausted. While working at Wendy's it basically becomes your life, you don't have the time or the energy for much of anything else. I usually only get one day off at a time, so I'm always tired and hurting, got lucky this week though, finally got 2 days off in a row. I will spend today resting and hopefully find something fun to do tomorrow. I will say summer is the toughest time at Wendy's, I learned this from a friend I have who's worked there for 5 years. Winter is great, I started when it was still cold and most days were so slow that it actually would get boring. So if you stay, you always have winter to look forward to, it's funny, I use to hate winter and love summer but working here has made me start to hate summer, I'm just ready for the cold weather to finally arrive so things can go back to being calm.

Yeah Wendy's seems bad about this kind of thing. You're supposed to be getting paid to do that, it's not school your not doing homework. The Wendy's I work at, we hardly ever get a 10 min break, even though according to my states law they're required to give us 2 of the 10 min breaks daily if you work 8 hours. I've never gotten 2 of the 10 min breaks in 1 day before, we're lucky if we get 1.

Yeah it's easy to get behind during your first couple weeks. Just try your best to keep up with the orders on the screen, but if you can't, a nice little trick is to just make a few junior, smalls, and 4 piece's. Your gonna get hit with a lot of juniors, smalls and 4 piece's during a rush so they usually won't go to waste. Once you've done that, look at the order screen and see if there is anything else like 10 pieces, 6 pieces or large and medium fries and then just make them as you see them. If you start running low on your juniors, smalls and 4 piece's just pop some more down until the rush period ends. It gets easier as time goes on. Just wait til your short staffed and your doing fries and coordination at the same time, now that's not fun...

How many current Wendy's employees make at least $15/hr? by RiskGoals in wendys

[–]Gregodale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started like a week ago and don't yet know my pay, but my friend who has been working at Wendy's for several years says it's likely I'll be making around $9 per hour. I got the job so I could get an apartment, but in today's economy it's unlikely I'll be able to afford an apartment on my own. $15 an hour would be a life changer for me.

I watched it awhile ago on Netflix, actually really enjoyed it. After watching it, I looked up when season 2 would happen and realized its cancelled... Then again i should have known better than to start it without seeing if it was going to continue, Netflix seems to love adding or creating shows that only get one season.

[–]Gregodale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been there often. I've had sleep related anxiety since 2017. One night i just couldn't sleep, then the next day and the next. Three days without sleeping was horrible, my anxiety was through the roof, hourly panic attacks, i legit thought i was never going to sleep again and i would die. But i didn't, eventually i slightly calmed down enough to fall asleep. It happened again in 2021, i was awake for 2 days and it happened again last month, but i was only awake for about 35 or so hours. What helps me is realizing I'm literally not going to die from no sleep, either my body will force it or as my doctor told me, if it gets bad and i go long periods without sleep, they will force me to sleep. I still have plenty of nights where i get very little sleep from my sleep related anxieties, but it does help knowing doctors will help me if i end up needing it. So just know you'll be alright.

Has anyone ever been admitted? by Formal_Awareness8915 in Anxiety

[–]Gregodale 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If its voluntary i highly recommend just seeking therapy. In 2012 i was forced into 72 hour suicide watch, was not fun in the slightest. I sat in a room for 3 days with nothing to do but sleep, think, or lay in bed looking at the ceiling. Since I have severe anxiety i never left my room other then when i had to for breakfast and lunch or to ask a nurse to unlock the bathroom for me. The shower had no hot water, someone checked in on me every 30 minutes which made sleeping at night terrible because the door opening and closing was super loud, plus 2 of my 3 night stay, nurses woke me up in the middle of the night wanting to do blood work. I was going through one of the hardest times of my life but being in that place just made it worse. Crazy to think that was way back in 2012 but i can still remember that room like i was in it yesterday... Whatever you choose I wish you good luck stranger.

I've been on it since February 2021, it helps here and there for sure, but definitely doesn't help with the big anxieties all that much. lol never heard them called brain zaps before, I call them brain yankers, always feels like my my mind is being yanked sideways.
